I’m trying to set my site’s homepage like this https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_magazine/ (with the trending now section, the 5 latest posts at the top, and the area below it called world news.) I’ve tried using the site builder, but there aren’t any templates or blocks that can make the homepage like the demo.

Creating a similar layout as the demo would not be difficult. The element on top is a News ticker element, simply add it on the page

If you mean the posts that are displayed there are options in the block settings to allow filtering.
Or maybe you are referring to the ajax filter displayed on top of the block

By default it will display all categories. Particular categories can be shown by entering their IDs
