Hello,
this is my website http://www.tuttosullegalline.it and i have Newspaper 7.7 theme.
It’s possible to update it from 7.7 version to 9? There’re some problems in this update?
The Newspaper staff offers the updating theme service (paying, of course)?

Thank you very much,
kind regards,
Francesco

Hi,

The latest version is 9.0.1, you can update to that, there should be no problem. Please check the changelog to see what has changed in the theme since the version you are using
https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609 (bottom of the page)

This is an update guide you can follow, also some advice like making a full backup before attempting to update
https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

Also check the updated theme requirements guide carefully

We don’t have services for updating the theme unfortunately. But it is not difficult to do, you can do it yourself by following the guide. Simply make a full backup before, just to be safe. The most recommended and reliable method is by FTP.

Thanks

Hello Simion,

thank you for your info.

A last a question/doubt please: i haven’t a child theme on my website. If i update the theme to version 9.0.1 and then i upload the old files that i have changed (to rewrite some css and php new files with my actually files), you think all will go well?

Thank you very much,
Francesco

Hi Francesco,

First of all, you should make a full back up to your database to avoid losing all of your data. Also, please notice that if you do not have a child theme, when you update the theme to the latest version of it and if your changes files will be overwritten, all of your customizations will be lost, sorry! You should make them again after you have updated your theme or you should start using the child theme.

Thanks for your understanding!
