Slow site speed

My site has a really poor speed,

For what I see, in part, is caused because of the theme. Can you help me optimize my Newspaper theme to have a better performance.

I have some trouble browsing the website, trying to access a post seems to automatically download a file

The menu is also not working for me. Clicking some menu items produces a warning

That may be a server issue, or caused by a plugin maybe, can’t say for sure.

From what I can see the website uses theme version 7.4, this is quite an old theme version (over 2 years old). Using such an old theme version with the latest WordPress might cause problems. It is highly recommended to keep both WordPress and theme updated when possible.
