Hi,
We’ve had this site for a few years now. Has always worked fine but today I’ve noticed that tagdiv composer isn’t working which means I’m unable to update the site. Which is a nightmare as I’m working to a deadline of today. I even had to pay for the theme again as I couldn’t find my purchase code. Which is another inconvenience.
I’m getting this – https://gyazo.com/0cf42e0e49935849d43618336bc2f3ec the circle just keeps rotating and nothing happens. I’ve had multiple pages open for hours now with no change. I’ve used a different browser, cleared cache and history, uninstalled and reinstalled tagdiv composer.
Is anyone able to help me I’m absolutely pulling my hair out!
Hello,
In most cases, this problem occurs because you have the latest version of WordPress with an older version of the theme.
Please check if you use the last version of WordPress 5.7.2 with the last theme version Newspaper 11 (if you have a theme version older, than NewsPaper 10.4 and you have the latest WP version 5.7.2, tagDiv Composer not work) and check to see if the problem persists.
If you need to make an update, before please make a full backup to all files and the database, in case something goes wrong. => https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Also, make sure that all the settings are like in our requirements, please follow the guide carefully: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
and please increase all requirements that are lower, and follow all steps.
Also, if the problem persists please check if you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv plugins, also if you are using a child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache (also from your browser) and try again.
Let me know the results!
Thank you!
Hi,
My suggestion is to do it on a staging website or a subdomain in case there are problems then not to affect your live website https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
Also, if you use blocks from tagDiv Standard Pack, please update and activate it and then you should no longer have shortcodes on the page.
Thank you!
So we tried to update newspaper then the site broke. I’m being told by my tech guy that the content from version 9 isn’t compatible with the new version and I’d have to rebuild the site, is this correct? If so that’s ridiculous as this has just cost me even more money than it was in the first place.
Once we updated the theme I got the below email from wordpress and none of the images etc were viewable.
Hi!
Since WordPress 5.2 there is a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.
In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, wordpress-seo.
First, visit your website (https://www.ontradeprogress.com/) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (https://www.ontradeprogress.com/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php) and check for any visible issues.
Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.
If your site appears broken and you can’t access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special “recovery mode”. This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.
To keep your site safe, this link will expire in 1 day. Don’t worry about that, though: a new link will be emailed to you if the error occurs again after it expires.
When seeking help with this issue, you may be asked for some of the following information:
WordPress version 5.7.2
Current theme: Newspaper (version 11)
Current plugin: (version )
PHP version 7.2.34

Hi rbunce1,
“I’m being told by my tech guy that the content from version 9 isn’t compatible with the new version and I’d have to rebuild the site, is this correct?”
This is not correctly, you can update the theme from Newspaper v9 to v11 without needed to rebuild the website, all you need to do is to make sure that you update the theme correctly and all theme plugins are installed and activate, since you had Newspaper v9.7.1 you must install in Newspaper v11 the tagDiv Standard pack, tagDiv Composer and tagDiv Cloud Library and if you use newsletter or social counter, then you nee to install those plugins too. After that the website should be the same like was in Newspaper v9.7.1.
Also the error that you attached is not about our theme or theme plugins, as I saw is related to migration that is coming from other plugins then ours.
Also for images you need to check to see if the images path was changed or not, if those are still in media library or not.
Thank you for your understanding!
