I’m having all sorts of problems with the Newspaper theme. I was trying to adjust a mobile page version of my homepage. I was attempting to work on the mobile header to see if there were other options. In the process, I must have tapped something in the Manager window that overwrote my whole regular mobile menu/header. I kept trying to revert. Then I deleted the AMP and mobile plugins to see if that fixed thing and then tried to reinstall them to see if that fixed anything. But then I got an error that won’t let me reinstall AMP. So I’m totally lost on how to restore everything. Now all of my mobile pages are broken.
This was the original situation: https://ibb.co/Y34RBt5
This is what happened to the mobile pages before I tried to delete and reinstall mobile and AMP: https://ibb.co/zrZB3XF
And now this is what my mobile website looks like: https://ibb.co/tMc9XZm
Please help me get back to the original version.
So I did additional testing today. If I have the tagDiv Mobile Theme and Official AMP for WP activated, it stops the header/menu from presenting. I’ve turned them off as a result but this seems to be counter to what the videos suggest to do. So I’m confused why that is affecting things.
Additionally, I’ve created mobile pages for most our pages. I can get the header/menu to work for the standard mobile layout (e.g., iPhone). But when I go to do the tablet/sideways mobile version in a mobile page, the system is killing the normal version. I can’t set both without killing the other. I’m totally perplexed about what’s happening.
On top of this, pages that that are standard and done through the TD Composer have a slightly different header/menu. I’ve just confused how to make this all uniform like it was before in mobile.
Hello @theurbanist!
If you want to use a mobile page, then you need to assign it to your homepage. For more information about this mobile version please take a look in this article: https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-10-3-7-update-brings-customizable-and-fast-mobile-pages/
If you created the mobile pages with TagDiv Composer, then when you install Mobile Theme plugin, your pages will be overwritten by the plugin.
The Mobile Theme is a performance optimized theme included in the Newspaper main theme and it loads only for mobile devices. It comes with its own templates for page, post, category, etc so your current templates from the desktop theme will get converted to the mobile theme layout: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/ and https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/
Please make sure the page is not built with the TagDiv Composer. In this case, the content won’t be displayed on Mobile theme version. You should create the content with the Mobile Editor.
You can resize the view of the elements because the settings are responsive which means the values will be applied on that viewport only: –> tablet version: https://www.screencast.com/t/YUVUcyrgh –> mobile version: https://www.screencast.com/t/XDQJedlggSB. Please note that you need to check every page to make sure they are responsive and look great on every viewport.
Also, you can have different header on every page by assigning a different header to the pages. Or only one by selecting a global header.
Hope that helps you!
Thank you!
