Hi guys,
After almost a year using Newspaper theme i’m still admired we don’t have a sticky post working as a voluntary directory of websites running Newspaper. I think that, despite customization (and even for that) it would be great to share how broad and creative the usage of this powerful theme has gone.
I must also say, as someone who had almost no skills in building a website that Newspaper was a one shot (100% lucky) option when i started, which has been fully delivering through support and constant upgrading. Sure there are some problems here and there, my regular posts asking for help are there to show it but overall Newspaper is just superb and i’ve been approach more than once by people asking which solution were we using on our wordpress site.
Note: since i don’t believe in luck too many times in a row i’m taking the exciting Newspaper 6 update with caution, wayting for TagDiv to go through all their updates and corrections before I do something i might have trouble in undoing, at my level of skill.
So here it is, i make the first step in what i think it would be a great idea, allowing us to share ideas, creativity and understand the full potential of this theme:
http://goalpoint.pt (Portuguese) – owned by GoalPoint Partners, a company focused on football (soccer) performance analysis/stats. The website has been a major setpiece and means to show our ability to provide the services and content in a regional market where our approach (mostly statistical) was non-existent.
Hope others join this bandwagon so it deserves a “sticky”. It would be great to see the list of websites and thematics grow as days go by.

Tks Radu, it could be much better if any of us had skills but we are mainly stats and numbers, not webdesign. But looking forward to apply Newspaper 6 and get the most of it. Hope others join this list, it would be great to exchange ideas.

Switched to Newspaper last year and am still figuring things out.
My Site is Sports Courant, an emerging online Sports magazine. I switched Jarida Theme (by Tie Labs) to Newspaper and I always get the feeling of money well spent.
I believe that I am not making most of this beautiful theme so any design/optimization suggestions are always welcome.

We’ve just moved over to Newspaper 6 (we came over from the Copyblogger Studiopress range of themes). Amazing theme in Newspaper and very happy with the results. We are going to continue tweaking the design and backend speed improvements over the coming weeks but site is fully live:

Pedro – we used to use Campaign Monitor but moved to Mail Chimp last year. Much better integration solutions there. My personal view is don’t use WP powered solutions but offload to an ESP service like Mail Chimp.

Thanks Stephan, been taking a look at Mail Chimp ourselves, thanks for the hint, already looked like the best way to go. We really have to go that way since a newsletter is the top #2 item our visitors are asking for (the 1st i guess is moving to a stronger hosting solution, we are peaking our current package :)).

@modernmavens I didn’t do anything special other than just sticking to the previous version. I’m looking forward to update to V6 but I decided to wait a bit over the usual updates and corrections since I’m a newbie so my ability to fix significant mistakes would be nonexistent (I don’t even know how to set up a testing clone so when i update i update live, which is… “radical” :)).
Anyway have you tested the V6 demo on mobile to check if it shows the same problems as you are finding? If not maybe you done something wrong. In my case i didn’t touch anything, i’m just using the big slider with no CSS mods, i used to have some but i dropped them when i updated to the Newspaper version I’m using.

Nice nice indeed, even if i don´t understand the language (newspaper and visual are exactly working good here, because i can “see” without “knwing” the language that its a goodsite)
One question, which plugin/codes did you use for the weather section (bottom left) and events (bottom right-hand side?

One final question, as I am new and planning a city website too, any tips on monetization of such sites and (if you like only) how much you work on the site (time and people, money) and what is is the outcome results (traffic, money).

Our site is a german languaged magazine for parents and family. Our topics are helpful tipps and stuff involving babies and children. We really love the abilities this theme gives us. It’s the perfect combination of beeing able to write informative (good looking) texts and having the structure of an online magazine.
I must admit, that we are having a bit troubles with pagespeed. But this is because of my non-professional tech- knowledge. Within the next months we would like to invest a lot of time to get a forum online. The bbpress integration of the theme will hopefully help us with that! 😉

We have finish design/optimization our site and with out the theme speedbooster i was able to fix all those important issues under the hood with cloudflare/speedbooster pack plugin via worldpress.
