We recently installed Newsmag 4.0 and have moved over to TD Composer, it works great and the pages do seem to load a lot faster. However, when editing in TD Composer the blocks do not show images next to them. So when adding blocks to a page we have to play a guessing game as to what the blocks look like. In your YouTube video, the blocks have images next to them showing you what they will look like but we do not see this on our site. Am I missing something?
Hi,
I installed (included content) the Art Creek demo. So far, so good. I bought the VC builder, so i disabled the tagDiv plugin.
When I open the home page I see only text blocks, with content like this: [td_block_image_box image_item0="34045" height="720" style="" image_title_item0="Art evokes the mystery without which the world would not exist."]. I think these are tagDiv shortcodes.
The demo is not the same as the example. There are no background images shown.
Is there a way to migrate from tagdiv to VC? the other way around is possible, I read.

Bert
Having a problem with the custom ads that doesn’t make sense.
Created a Custom Sidebar. Added the [tagDiv] Ad Box widget. Used the default Sidebar adspot and it worked fine. But only 1 of the custom sidebar ads work. 1, 2, 3 and 5 do not load. custom_ad_4 however does load.
The settings for all 4 custom ads, and the sidebar ad are identical. The code in all of them is identical. But only Sidebar and Custom_ad_4 work. The others simply do not display the widget at all.
This is what is displayed using custom_ad_1 (and 2, 3 and 5). There should be an ad between “ACO Series” and the top block.
https://preview.ibb.co/fSP7Za/broken.png
This is what is displayed using custom_ad_4. The ad displays correctly.
https://preview.ibb.co/naSSZa/working.png
The code used in the ad slots is identical and even use the same image. The Ad Box widget has no settings changed. What is going wrong? I don’t understand how the same code in every ad slot ends up with only 1 working. This code looks ok to use?
Hey Chris,
Thanks a bunch for your feedback! I’ll first complete building the website (it’s still in development) and then figure out which sizes are being used, after which I will turn the rest off. Just for my information, what happens if I upload an image at a later stage and use a block for which the size has been turned off?
Thanks again and have a good one!
Let me ask it another way. The ‘tech demo’ version of Newsmag brings ‘Newsmag default’ sidebar. I’ve placed 3x ‘[tagDiv] Block 15’ + 1x ‘[TagDiv] Ad blox’ in it. These widgets have no way of using custom added CSS classes.
On the other hand, on the right column of the frontpage (which is made with Visual Composer), I’ve placed a ‘Social Counter’, an ‘Add Box’ and a ‘Block 7’. If I edit these from within the Visual Composer page, it gives an option to add an ‘Extra Class’, in which I place the class which executes the following code, added in the Custom CSS section of the Newsmag panel:
@media only screen and (max-width: 768px) {
.only_desktop { display: none !important; }}
Since the default sidebar doesn’t give me the option to add CSS classes to widgets (for example, I also want to hide certain widgets that are placed in the footer section), they are viewable on phones and tablets.
If you would like to see the page, I’m gonna have to give you a username and password since the website is still in development and hidden behind a htaccess-login. Could you send me a mail at j.vanleeuwen@torasko.com if you would like this?
Thanks in advance for your feedback. I’m looking forward to hear from you!
I take advantage of the topic to signal another very important feature to implement in tdComposer: it is to be able to save block presets.
This is very important because, especially in publishing a newspaper, you need to recall a preset for a specific publication in a simple way.
Thank you again for your attention.

Hello
5 days ago i updated VC and Grid block disappeared. (I used the VC download file from VC owner’s site, not from Newspaper dir)
So, my blocks disappeared, then i get VC from newspaper dir and uploaded to VC dir in my plugins dir.
Now blocks are OK.
But i received a message to upgrade VC, can i upgrade? or if i upgrade my blocks will disappear again?

I use Newspaper theme. I’ve got a problem with „date” on start page. I heve build static page using Visual Composer and I set it as a start page. I arranged start page using block. In wordpress I’ve installed plug „Meks Time Ago” which automatically should change my post date display to “time ago” format like “1 hour ago”, “3 weeks ago”, “2 months ago” etc. However when I use it on my start page, plug doesn’t work properly – in block is a date when static page was created than the date when news item was added.
your code it’s work only for post but not work for “block”
can you provide more code? I want category tag to be the same in all area
thanks.
I already updated Visual Composer and now I’m having trouble recreating homepage with Tagdiv Composer, because I only see code and nothing Visual anymore (td_block codes). When trying to open it with Tagdiv Composer I get “Errors happened during _initStructureData() -> _getData()!”
How can I read the code to recreate the homepage (as advised in another topic of Radu) with Tagdiv Composer. It’s not that easy as told. And will I need to recreate all other pages too I made with Visual Composer?
The Tag Div composer has broken all of the blocks that were added in the Visual Composer.
All I see in the Visual Composer are a bunch of [td_block] shortcodes.
Is there a way around this to keep using the Visual Composer and NOT have to switch all content over to use the Tag Div Composer? I have downgraded the Visual Composer to 5.1.1 that was included in your last theme package.
Thank you for asnwering,
You are right, I’ve updated the VC plugin, I tried to roll-back to the old version of it by updating it from the themes files and the problem persists, even with the previous version of the js.composer I was unable to restore the tagdiv blocks. Please give me some help on this… how can I make this blocks appear, I’ve a national news portal and currently running with a deformed homepage… please help me to figure out how to resolve it..
thank you very much

Hi,
The author name and the date can be removed for all the blocks/modules, in the theme panel
– https://www.screencast.com/t/vhCAVjUuV
If you would like to remove them just from the category page grids, you can try a code like this one for example
– https://www.screencast.com/t/TZTypV0iy
.td-category-grid .td-post-author-name,
.td-category-grid .td-post-date {
display: none;
}
The code must be entered in Theme panel->Custom Css section.
Thanks
Category codes and exclusions are showing in the Home Page blocks in Classic Mode. According to your colleagues at Visual Composer (WP Bakery), it’s your fault. What’s happening and how/when will it be restored to normal. /Users/Easely/Desktop/Screen Shot 2017-07-12 at 15.50.01.png
Hello smga,
Ensure that you are using the latest theme version and also, only the required plugins which come bundled with the theme version. Also, if your blocks and Big Grids are added with Visual Composer and if you want to edit them with TD Composer, notice that you cannot do this but only if you will recreate them from scratch with our page builder. If the problem is still there, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com with your log-in information (wp-admin) so we can further inspect it closer your setup page. Provide there the link to this topic so we can quickly identify you.
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi,
This can be done, you just have to use the right code. You can use the browser inspector to identify the elements used and their classes in order to create custom code
– https://forum.tagdiv.com/create-custom-code-using-the-browsers-inspector/
For example you can try a code like this as a start, and maybe add more classes or more customization
– https://www.screencast.com/t/sWZ8sfRiophH
– https://www.screencast.com/t/O4SItaVQD
– https://www.screencast.com/t/yziOjRMA
The code must be entered in the Theme panel->Mobile theme->Custom Css. This can be improved the way you like, by adding more elements or removing them.

Hello nomoretechno,
Notice that is not a simple task and in order to achieve as you wish, you should make some custom work. As a hint, you should edit the td_block_mega_menu.php, like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/8tYhnZlt1Xf
If you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hello Rrezart,
Unfortunately, please notice that our theme uses some modules which have the own size for the thumbs and which cannot be easily changed from theme panel. If you will check our Theme panel, you will see that exists a lot of blocks which uses different thumb sizes as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/HX52htLXeN7m If you want to make some changes over your thumbs you should edit the td_config.php core files and increase there your thumb sizes as you want. Notice that is not a simple task and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom services at the moment, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
“Big Grid Shortcodes” in the editor (WPBakery Visual Composer) are stopped to showing. Previously created entries in the classic editing mode shows shortcodes in the text, but the visual appearance shows blank lines. Previously published posts are displayed correctly, but something new Big Grid Blocks can not be created, because they are not in the visual editor.
Hi Guys, Thank you for your support.
I am experiencing the same error in 2 of my most used WordPress Plugins (Wp-Statistics) and (Woocommerce).
This is the error: Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function get_current_screen()
This appears in the (Text with Title) block in the new TagDiv Editor and prevents anything from being edited or saved…
Currently, I have the two plugins disabled and everything works fine.
If you would like me to send you the full error message please let me know.
Could you please fix this issue in an update…
Thanks.
Hello,
I am trying to transition to the TagDiv Composer but cannot add any block elements to a new page as there are no shortcodes being displayed as seen on your toturial. Also I noticed I could not edit posts using the TagDiv composer. How can I do this?
Hi there
I have block 11 on my homepage and according to inspect element this block style has width=185 and height=135. So, my question is how can I make it 140×140?
Thanks!
All the Best.
I’m currently having problems on my new WordPress-website to upload new media with automatic image compression. These images are never larger dan 200 kilobytes, but still can take up to a minute (per image!) to upload.
I’ve contacted the developer of the TinyPNG-WordPress plugin (although I also got the same result with Smush It) and said the following:
In the attachment of this mail you can find a basic image (bixby.jpg) which is compressed to around 60-70% using Gimp, a screencapture (Capture.png) of the grey box with the blue bar, and finally of the file compression page you referred to in your mail. It seems around 20 different versions get created. The whole process per images takes well over a minute, so uploading 5-10 images for a basic article is nearly impossible.
They gave me the the following reply:
“There is nothing strange with the image itself. Just compressing that image using the web interface is almost instant for me. I also tried compressing the image using the WordPress plugin using 5 different sizes and that took about 15 seconds. If you have about 20 different sizes then it’s not too strange that it can take a minute or more. There are of course other factors as well that may cause it too take longer but the biggest culprit in this case is the amount of sizes per images that have to be compressed.
My advice would be to check which of these sizes you really need for your site. We see very often that users have themes that have 15+ image sizes for each image but they sometime only use as little as 3 of those sizes. If you can deselect some of those sizes you will immediately gain a huge speedup.”
Could you tell me what the best course of action is?
It would be useful (for example) to build a page with several lines (sections) with a first line with theme blocks and in the bottom section (row) two columns with text or other content (or shortcode), and still below (other row) other blocks or other.
This can now be done with Visual Composer, with no problem and all responsive.
This is just an example, and it must also be possible with tdComposer, to increase its great integrated system value, and the efficiency it has demonstrated.
