1. That is the mega-menu with sub-categories with the Newspaper theme, Newsmag has a mega-menu design like this

Again, the links and example are using the Newspaper theme not Newsmag. Despite similarities there are also functionality and design differences between the two themes.

2. You could edit the page with the builder you used to create it, probably Visual composer (now WPBakery page builder). That seems to be a heading or title, set a border right to it of the color you want, check in the CSS or design tab settings.

Maybe some of those can be done with CSS modifications, the gallery element would not have such settings unfortunately. Try a code like this

It will remove the bottom thumbnails section, also the black background and set a white background instead

@mmedia This has not been implemented in the theme up to this moment. There would be other priorities at the moment. But it is noted and will be considered at a future time.

You should use a bit of CSS code if you want to change these section. As a hint, you can try using the below code and place it in Theme panel -> Custom CSS area.
