I have already answered the same questions 50 times the past year and they are all covered in this thread.
I am no longer providing any help with PageSpeed issues, as this is all covered in this sticky topic for advanced users, and for newbies, the settings/docs provided by TagDiv for the theme docs (link right side of page) will get you to the 80+ stage right away. If your score is below that then you *did not* follow the theme docs or this topic on the basics for speeding up your WORDPRESS install.
WordPress optimization is widely covered on the net – it’s not theme specific.
You need to have
a) fast hosting; $3/month accounts or “free” hosting are crap.
b) have gzip/deflate running on server
c) you need to set expiration headers in your htaccess (noted in docs)
d) you need to have an image optimization strategy (noted in docs); either via plugin and/or changing optimization setting in functions.php (covered in this sticky topic.. why not READ through it??)
e) you need to optimize your dbase regularly (wp-optimize plugin)
f) you need to limit use of things which call CSS, JS, fonts, ads, counters from OTHER SITES.
g) you need to test/explore refine some kind of caching system on the server or from a WP plugin (noted in docs)
h) high quality hosting will add mod_pagespeed
i) you need to look at manual minification of main style.css file
j) limit number of ad networks
k) limit number of plugins wherever possible
j) limit total number of images/thumbs loaded on post pages to something like 10 total; not 30+
k) use fewer module types to limit number of image sizes/thumbs; use text modules also.
Advanced users:
a) local caching/loading of gravatars
b) mod_pagspeeed and mod_spdy if site loading via https
c) optimization of font loading, hack theme to remove calls from headers/footers to Google and load via style.css; -or- use ONLY web-safe fonts and no Google fonts.
d) manual minification of other files, such as main theme functions files
e) optimization of wp-config.php file with comment removal, add paths to base URL/directory and theme directory by name
f) add expiration type/ttl for custom icon font loaded by theme
etc.
Learning to optimize your WordPress site is UP TO YOU TO LEARN. It’s not part of the theme. The theme supports very good speed rating IF YOU DO THE REST. The theme cannot fix your server, optimize your htaccess file, speed up time, or transport you off this rock. Google is a great resource to FIND hundreds of articles from the past decade on optimizing WordPress. You’re not the first person to do it.

Sooo, after waiting impatiently, I decided to break open Chrome inspect element and try and troubleshoot it myself.
I realized, I had made my own ads.php and td_module_single.php files in Newsmag-child theme folder.
The update changed these files and so the modifications I made (to turn on/off ads/author on posts per tagDiv forum post) were breaking the ad spot in my header and in my posts.
Woot, fixed it and all is well as far as this help topic.

Update:
I tried using an AdRotate shortcode in the theme setting ads for the Header Ad position with no luck.
I tried adding Adsense to it. I tried adding a straight image.
I tried using the code supplied in the theme documentation to call a straight image. Nope.
No matter what I put in the ad spot in the theme settings; no ads appear in the header ad position on my site.
Can I please get a fix? Thanks
NVM – Not related, was from the pulgin. BUT, still can’t see header ad.
I don’t know if this is related, but with 1.4 I was able to get all *.js errors cleared on my homepage. Now, with 1.5, I get two recurring *.js errors.
Uncaught SecurityError: Failed to read the 'contentDocument' property from 'HTMLIFrameElement': Blocked a frame with origin "http://riverscenemagazine.com" from accessing a frame with origin "https://platform.twitter.com". The frame requesting access has a protocol of "http", the frame being accessed has a protocol of "https". Protocols must match.
Not sure why twitter http vs https is an issue, nothing is using it on the homepage.

I have updated from 1.4 to 1.5. Run the SQL script. Deleted dependant theme plugins and reinstalled them.
My header ad is no longer displaying AdSense script for a responsive ad. This was working prior to the update.
Confirmed with Google Publisher Toolbar in Chrome that the ad is not present on the page at all.
Adsense script code is still in the theme panel settings for that “ads” position.
Any fixes, updates to address this?

Currently we have our site setup with our logo in the centre over top of a header image followed by the main menu and an advertising banner. We like the look of it on the main page but want to know if it’s possible to change this look on secondary pages where we may not want the huge header as we have on the main page?
We aren’t programmers and know very little about how the backend process works so please let us know what we need to do step by step if possible.

2. I’ve noticed that some of this errors come from your plugins so I suggest you also check if you still get this errors without any plugins active.

The get header error occurs when you try to access the theme’s index.php file directly and this is caused by the theme’s inability to locate the WordPress get_header function as it dose not passed trough WordPress when the request is made and in that case the function doesn’t “exist”.

I have investigated this and seems that the mega menu feature it bound by the header menu id that is why the menu breaks, changing it is not simple and you would need additional customization besides changing the menu id.
You could try to add menu items for both you menu then use css to hide the ones you want only on mobiles on desktop and reverse.

1) We noticed one second delay in whole site installation, WP-Admin – site front page as well.

3) It’s not possible to change the line height on module related articles. From theme panel is not change. All settings are to default. The navigation also moved from top to bottom of the panel. See also this image

I need your support regarding a third party plugin called WP-Subcribe Pro. There is supposed to be a pop up subcription window however it is not working with Newsmag. I asked the issue in plugin’s forum, they adviced me to adding below code to the bottom of the functions.php file (in order to execute jQuery code earlier), I tried but it did not work as well.

It seems jQuery is included too late in the code, it appears in the footer, however, it’s needed earlier in the execution, it should be included in the header. It’s hard to tell how to fix it without knowing how the theme handles the inclusion. Try adding this code to the bottom of the functions.php file of your theme:

I have a related question. We are getting ready to launch our new site with the Newspaper theme and although the theme is incredible with a tone of options we are struggling to figure out how to place non-adsense ads into the header and other locations.
In the past we used SH Slideshow which simply used a shortcode, I tried that and it didn’t work. I also have the option of using a PHP script (<?php shslideshow(1); ?>), this also didn’t work.
I installed Simple Ads Manager but it’s a Widget based system and I can’t figure out how to get a widget into the header ad space.
Can you help?
