Have you tested your site in Google’s mobile friendly tester? Optimized your site for speed, not just mobile compatibility, and resubmitted your sitemap to Google to have them load the mobile friendly versions into SERPS?

I am using the filter by category feature on the blocks so when you hover over the more button the category list is in the dropdown, when you select a category the menu doesn’t disappear automatically without moving the mouse off the menu.

This obviously isn’t a problem on desktop but on mobile it doesn’t make for a very user friendly interface as the menu then takes up the majority of the screen and the user has to tap outside of the dropdown which is a very small area.

I would assume this is a relatively easy fix as normally the window would close upon selection so I assume it has been purposely coded this way. If anyone would be able to point me in the right direction of the JavaScript files or how I can resolve this problem it would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

When I’m loading my post for the very first time, and scroll down to the comment section, author and commenters images are missing.

I think it’s a lazy load issue, please have a look here:

And help me fix this.

I just tried to shared my post on mobile by clicking on whatsapp icon, and it only shares the title text, not the link of the post.

Please take a look at my post:

https://passivegrow.com/5-best-wordpress-multipurpose-themes-2018-mobile-seo-friendly/

And try to share it with whatsapp on mobile, and it’s only sending post headline without post link.

Hello mmedia6587,

Please understand that the main functionality of AMP plugin is to display the posts very quickly on the Google’s eye. Basically, when a client in on AMP version, he is not on your website (that’s why your visits were falling down more and more ) and the main goal is to redirect it to your own website. The AMP will have to be viewed as a preview of the posts pages of your website which are delivered by the Google AMP Cache. This is a proxy-based content delivery network for delivering all valid AMP documents. It fetches AMP HTML pages, caches them, and improves page performance automatically. For more information about this case and to better understand the operating system for this plug-in, please check the following useful manual from here -> https://www.searchenginejournal.com/difference-accelerated-mobile-pages-amp-mobile-friendly-pages/172967/
As a very good example, please check the official page of Seo Yoast and there you will see that they have not implemented the menu bar on AMP pages, as you can see here -> https://www.screencast.com/t/OfzMGTLPQk
Also, please notice that AMP will work only for pages which were made with a simple text and not with some page builder elements.
For more references and for a better understanding of AMP functionality please read the plugin documentation!!!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hello mmmmarchese,

The Mobile plugin refers only to your own website and how it looks on the mobile phone, regarding on theme layout. For more information, please check here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/

You could test the speed with Google insights tool and mobile friendly tool
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/
https://search.google.com/test/mobile-friendly
Or there might be more popular testing tools online.

Hi there,

Just installed & configured the AMP plugin by TagDiv and it’s pretty cool that it works for like 90% right away!

I do have some suggestions to improve it, though:

  1. Please see https://medium.com/google-developers/how-to-avoid-common-mistakes-when-publishing-accelerated-mobile-pages-9ea61abf530f for more information on how to make AMP more SEO-friendly. The 1 thing you guys don’t have yet that Yoast SEO does is link rel=”amphtml”. This is very important to appear in the Google Top Stories Carousel with AMP.
  2. Smart list + Google AMP + anchor links to parts of the same page generates URLs like this. All the other Newspaper theme features do not have any problems with AMP + linking to a certain part of a page (with #anchor). So, it’s just the combination of smart lists + AMP + linking to a part of a page that’s not working.
  3. Image resizing is not fully responsive for Google AMP. Images are just a little too wide on all mobile devices (e.g. iPhone 7, iPhone 8 Plus, and so on). Images do scale/resize on AMP, yes, but they are still a little too big. Just compare non-AMP with AMP using Google dev tools.
  4. Not sure yet if this is a problem: tracking visitors with Analytics may not be working. I used the Analytics JSON tracking code like the instructions said and I see the amp-analytics script in the code of the pages, but visitors don’t show up in the statistics (yet). Maybe there’s a time delay. Again, not sure if this is a problem yet. I will confirm later.

I hope this feedback will help you improve the TagDiv Google AMP plugin!

Hello Tezo,

I have tested your website to the next online tool and it seems that you have some problems to fix them, as you can see here -> https://search.google.com/test/mobile-friendly?id=fnoMbw1_WOXABBeGA2FDLg

If you will check our demo using this online tool you will see the following result -> https://search.google.com/test/mobile-friendly?id=IXP5XfS6aiWDw1Nh0liy4g

Hi,

I have checked the website you mention with that tool, the results are mentioning the result mobile friendly
https://www.screencast.com/t/kj2fTcA8E
Among the issues that it detects despite the page being mobile friendly (which by the way are fewer or more each time I tested so the test would be inconclusive) there seem to be some plugin related problems, ad related, a couple of thumbnails and a few WordPress files

Hi,
This seems to be problem for all Newspaper theme installations that I checked via Google Mobile Friendly Test.

Once the Mobile Friendliness test is done, clicking to “Page Loading Info” says besides other loading issues:
it cannot load images

I also tested competitor websites running Newspaper theme, they show the same issue.
Check this site for example please…https://www.bestonlineforexbroker.com

Hello matijakurusic,

Please keep in mind that both options are important and here is talking about two different functionalities! Notice that is no question of choosing between them because you can use them simultaneously. The note is that the user, at the first time will see the AMP page, in Google Search (like this -> https://www.screencast.com/t/YM1PffHt) and then, he will be redirected to your website which will work in the mobile theme. The AMP will have to be viewed as a preview to the posts pages of your website which are delivered by the Google AMP Cache. Hello,

I’m having some “problems” with the Speed Booster plugin. I state that i’m not a newbie to this template and its plugins.
Said that, what follow is my problem: as you can see from the screenshot below, if i run the Google Page Speed for my articles, there’re two files that delay the render of the page (above-the-fold) only on the mobile version (i’m not using the dedicate mobile plugin because the theme is already mobile friendly).
I’ve added those files in my Speed Booster config file, but seems that isn’t working.
The second problem is: why the mobile pages needs 5 round trip to be loaded? (0 on desktop version)

screenshot

Here’s my speed booster code for CSS and JS (not complete for security reasons):

function css_mover() {
        //if ($this->td_theme_name == 'Newspaper') { }
        // wp 011 - Newspaper 6
