I just updated to Newspaper 9. My site has been live for over a year or two using Newspaper 8. Everything is fine EXCEPT the search icon in the menu bar (upper right corner) is not visible. If I click on that empty spot, it open a search text box, but I can’t see a search icon / magnifying glass — so customers would never see that. FYI – the search icon if visible in the mobile site, though I don’t care much for how it is working. That is an improvement however because before the new version, the search icon DID NOT WORK at all in Newspaper 8 for me. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Hi,

You could a code from this topic – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/top-bar-in-mobile-menu-is-not-coming/
It should make the top bar visible on mobile, but only if you do not use the mobile theme plugin.

Thanks

Hi,

If you mean the order of the socials in the top bar and footer, that could only be done with modifications in a theme file, like mentioned by Calin in this topic
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mobile-menu-social-icons/
I believe this is a request that is already added on our list.

For the social icons elements of the composer this is not possible, if you are referring to it.

Thanks

Hi,

I believe you are referring to the top bar, this is not displayed on mobile. It could be made visible with a code if required. For example the code from this topic
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/top-bar-in-mobile-menu-is-not-coming/
Will make the top bar visible on mobilehttp://prntscr.com/msvoyz

Let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks

Hi,

I am interested in implementing this menu to my main menu because I have a lot of countries as categories for Europe.

Is it possible to use the following code but only have this for the desktop version of the site? I don’t particularly like having the multiple columns on the sub-menu on mobile version?

Here is the code I am using based on the above recommendation:

.menu-item-196 .sub-menu{
padding: 14px;
-moz-column-count: 2;
-webkit-column-count: 2;
column-count: 2;
}
.menu-item-196 .td-menu-item > a{
padding: 4px 10px!important;
}

Hello.
I’ve checked all the plugins etc. but I cannot find the reason why they are not opening.
Also, login/register on the top black bar is not working – maybe this is connected somehow.

Hi,

We are experiencing a similar issue on this site: galwaybayfm.ie, the mobile menu has stopped responding and is causing a major issue.

Do you have any idea as to what maybe causing this?

Thanks in advance,
Colin.

Hi callin,
Thanks for all help and Support.
I did further digging and realized that my menu bar is not working because of SSL Cache which WP rocket is doing.The moment I unchecked the option,my menu bar started working and mobile theme is showing the result as expected.
But the problem is when I disabled it ,my page speed score on google changed drastically which I can’t afford as I already paid 49$ jsut to improve my page speed score. There are some backend js and CSS code which is directly affecting my menu .
Would it be possible for you write some code on backend and get it resolved.

Hi,

I’m having an issue with the menu. The menu works fine on desktop but some of the links don’t work in the mobile version. How can I fix this?

The site is http://www.songthuanchay.vn . It’s in Vietnamese but the issue should be pretty clear to see.

Thanks in advance,

Scott

Hi,

I solved your problem with search icon adding some custom css, but the problem with menu is still there -> https://www.screencast.com/t/sX9xZvwK if you try in incognito mode the menu will work -> https://www.screencast.com/t/EFpYiChk, so I thick that is cause by the cache plugin.
The code that I add in your mobile theme custom css
#td-header-search-button {
display: block;
}

Thank you!

In the Theme Panel, for Header, I selected Header Style 2. I have set the Search Position to “Hidden”. On desktop the search button is hidden, but on mobile menu the search is still present.

For now, I have hidden the search button on mobile via the Advanced CSS options.

Please provide a fix for this bug. It is not expected for the search button to appear on the mobile menu when it is explicitly set to hidden.

Thank you.

Dear, I have used the picture in the mobile menu, but the menu color is somewhat mixed and not optimized. I want to make prominent the background picture, menu color and hovering color as prominent in the Newspaper Recipe Demo. For further info, plz look at the pic and suggest me the solution for it:

How do incorporate the top menu into the mobile theme?

Catalin

Hi,

If you want to create another menu for your mobile, try using the Mobile Theme because this plugin allows you to have a different menu than the desktop.

Thanks.

Hi,

Hi,

From the first image I see that you have not created the mega-menu properly, it is not a bug, it is a common mistake. Some helpful topics here
https://forum.tagdiv.com/mega-menu/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/hopefully-last-bit-of-help-slight-issue-with-the-mega-menu/
Basically the menu item you choose to make a mega-menu must not have sub-menus.

For that second issue, I could inspect it. From an image I can’t say what is wrong there exactly. Post a link to the website where I can see it. If you are designing for example a page in the composer, keep checking how it will look on mobile
http://prntscr.com/mnj5f6
Some settings can be set per device, like the CSS – http://prntscr.com/mnj5w2

Thanks

Hi.

I tried playing around with the fonts in the theme panel, but managed to get myself into a right pickle. And now the menu on mobile is displaying the category headers as super tiny.

I reset all the fonts to default, but it hasn’t fixed the problem. The menu headers on the desktop site are now also too small (despite, again, resetting everything to default).

Would you be able to send me the actual default font settings used for the Say What demo?

The site is http://www.nodontdothat.com

Thanks a bunch.

Thanks, do you know if there’s a way to access the mobile menu to change this manually so that I can add more links?
