I’ve created a template for an archive page for a custom post type I have. It works great. However now I’d like to display the sub categories for the post type with ajax, and also the ajax load more navigation.
Is there a way I can add this to the custom template I’ve created?

Hoping to NOT have to do any more hacking to templates since I already have to fix something in the main template, the hit counter module (we had existing system and field), and the author name on hack. So, trying not to add anything more to “insert here in code for something” if I can help it.

I tried twice to find out from you how I create images preview for existing articles (I have over 6000).

The second time I was advised use “Auto Post Thumbnail”. I try, but this solution is awful! Plugin makes the picture preview square, quite different from those that made ââby template if hands set!

In my experience you can’t expect your site being even close to what it looks like today when migrating to a new theme.
Most likely a change initially will send you in to a state of chock but when you’ve overcome that glitch there’s so much you can do.
I.e. myself am using two side bars side by side on my frontpage just using the elements that comes along with the theme together with preassigned customized sidebars and dropping them in to the composer.
With a bit of tweaking I’m thinking you could use the same technique to get the result you’re aiming for and save it as a template in the composer.

I have prepared my home page according to the documentation and I have selected the “Full responsive (1170px)” option from the Template options but my slider background will not take up the full width of my page. Instead it stays confined to the container of the slider. I noticed that if I choose “1170px fixed layout” the issue is resolved, but then I do not have a responsive solution. I need responsiveness. Can you please advise?

You can place videos anywhere in your post, as this is a normally supported function of WordPress via oembed. You only have to place video on top if doing “featured video” which is useful when you don’t have a photo (really only reason to do that, or if you had something like a music video gallery).
Always good idea to check all the wonderful tutorials provided by WordPress on how to use WP, such as how to insert videos:

As to using both DisQus *and* the FB comment box; I would *not* advise that since Disqus can support login via Facebook, you will need to likely avoid that option, otherwise you might get two “call backs” to FB and this will kill your site loading time and PageSpeed, if you care about that. It it works, would love to see it! đ
I installed the Newspaper template…what I have been looking for along time. I am having a problem with the Page Gallery now that I uploaded the template. Before I had Thumb Nails you could see everything I had set at 150 x 200…now half the photos are cut off. So I tried a Gallery Photos and its the same even after reuploading photos.

My site have this template for homepage.
But the slider don’t play. There isn’t option in modify page (only SLIDE BG ULR, SLIDE LIMITS and anothre)

I created a test page called test page and went through adding a template, publishing it, then preview and it works perfectly, so cant understand why I can not have a page called blog that works, or even our blog (which I don’t want to call it), driving me nuts!
Seems that I am in Australia, and when someone does answer I will probably be asleep.
Cant seems to edit my first post so have to keep re-posting, where did that edit button go! lol
set up page called blog (referenced in customize to use that page for the blog) used visual composer and selected template – homepage – magazinly, went into slide and added info, updated (published) went to preview changes and it takes me back to home page not blog, when I do click on blog it looks the same as it did before I made the changes with my posts all on there but no slider or anything else, just set up like module 5.
Then tried deleting the template and just made a slider, and added info asked for and still it takes me to homepage not blog, and my blog is the same as it was previously.

First off, there is a black splotch just above(on the left hand side) the big slide on my static front page. There should be some title there I believe, like the title block that is over the ‘Latest articles’. It looks bad and creates extra white space between the slider and header. How do I remove this? You can view it at http://www.betheline.com if you don’t know exactly what I am speaking of.
Secondly, using the home page template for BG w/ latest articles, the page shows what ever amount of articles it wants. I set the ‘Loop’ at 6 and it shows 8 sometimes 9. When I had it set at 4, it would do the same … show a willy-nilly amount of articles. I would like my front page to have just 6 ‘latest articles under the carousel. Then people can click through the back log if they wish. Is there a fix for this, maybe a code I can replace?

The authors pages are dynamic generated. To go to an author page the link is yoursite.com/author/admin instead of admin will be other usernames.
In theme customizer on Template Option you can set a custom sidebar for Author pages if you want to display another sidebar for that pages different by default sidebar.
To edit the author information go to Users -> All users and from there you can edit an author, add social details, biographical info.

@GZAM – to optimize the delivery of the fonts you can create a colection on google fonts and use a single url to that collection to add them to the page.
The collection url for the default fonts is this: http://www.google.com/fonts#ReviewPlace:refine/Collection:PT+Sans:400,700,400italic|Ubuntu:400,400italic|Open+Sans:400italic,400|Oswald:400,700|Roboto+Condensed:400italic,700italic,400,700
and we via the speed booster plugin we load just one request with all the fonts:

After you decide on the fonts you can do a collection of them on google fonts and embed them all in one url.

@Christopher we are working on a new panel, new font system and new css generator for the theme. Also we will do most of the templates in the old wordpress way so people can modify it easier. Version 3 will be a major rewrite and I hope people will not kill us for changing so many things đ
