What about several user suggestions? I don’t know how to handle some needed feautures such as
– slider gallery of uploaded article pictures (with optional captions) – not jetpack
– implementation of formats with icons for gallery, soundcloud, cite… not only the video template
Waiting for a official implementations or doing this by myself and fix that by every update?
Is it possible or needful to make a list here or somewhere else?

sorry to poke. This is one of the outstanding “bugs” for us which still lives from the past 3 updates to theme, where to keep the link working on author box in post to twitter, it breaks the user id in the meta data for the OG tags.
Any ETA on this one? I know you’re fielding a lot of queries and requests, but this is a core bug from awhile back.

Hi there,
I uploaded the 2.0 update and imported the demo then I created a child theme.
When activated, the child theme is quite different from parent whereas I brought no modifications in either themes and particularly child theme brings the logo + text that appears in the footer of parent version in the top header menu and I don’t know how to take it off.
I also noticed html codes for the 2 pages parent & child were very different. I don’t undestand why, as child theme imports css from parent without any change for the moment.

I will periodically write here a new thread where we can discuss what will be implemented in the next versions. In addition to the small fixes and improvements we have some very big updates that will come in the long run.
Please know that we are working full time and we dedicate all of our attention to this theme and to the support.
We are now working on this:
– fix the sticky posts – on the homepage loop since update 1.7 they are missing.
– the new adsense code
– text color for menu option
We are also investigating and we want to implement if it’s possible this:
– color themes on each category (the theme will change it’s entire color theme when you are on one category or on posts from one category)
– a system that will remove duplicate posts everywhere – in response to this thread
Research:
In the long run we are working on a new panel system. It’s still in the early stages of design but we finished the requirements and a basic framework to work on:
We will use this panel on all of our products from now on and it’s designed to work also with Newspaper. This panel will take us at least a month to be finish and it order to make it compatible with the Newspaper theme I think we have to redo the ads section of the theme and the category settings section but all the other settings should be easily be moved to the new one.
Besides this we also do some interesting stuff to push the limits of wordpress themes 🙂 stay tuned.

Please disregard. I found out there was a conflict with the “Clicky” stats plugin. I disabled and the menu, bg image, and ads are fine now.

I always upload full theme, dont know how to update other way.

Hi,
note you have to set a “featured” image for each post for any thumbnails to work, since the theme uses the builtin thumbnail options of WP.
For my setup I have it as
1) customizer > posts > don’t show featured images
2) on each post I place image in story, and then bottom right post page choose the image I want on indexes as ‘featured’
3) I then used regenerate thumbnails with the “make image featured” option
Your mileage may vary. Be sure that your wp images folder is writable. I had that happen once where no image would even upload due to the server owning the folder — and in another case using the month folders didn’t work either, so I never use those anymore out of habit.
Not sure if that helped at all. Was just checking in to see any bugs in the new update before I applied it, and saw your post.

theme upgrade 1.7 to 2.0 and the background disappeared I can not customize the colors from the manager (only from the code).
Found the reason!
The sprite files were not included in the patch folder. You have to grab them from the complete theme folder and update them seperately.
I have the same problem.. And is also happening on the desktop version. I updated the sprite files but the issue still.
