Hi,
Thank you for the detailed explanation. Those issues happened after the WordPress 7.0 update. I can confirm that they will be fixed in the next theme update.
These are screenshots from the upcoming theme version:
-> https://prnt.sc/aXDsOBCdrBk1
-> https://prnt.sc/5n8hkGdmOu98
It’s a minor update with just a few fixes, it should be released this week.
Thank you!
I saw the recent message stating that a fix for the td-composer vulnerability (v5.4.5) will be released “this week.”
Could you please provide an exact ETA for this update? My website’s files are being constantly modified and infected by attackers every single day because of this exploit. Dealing with this exact same hacking issue and restoring backups daily is becoming a massive problem for us.
We urgently need this security patch to secure our systems. Thank you.
Hi,
A new theme update containing the fix for the issue, as well as a few other minor issues, will be released soon. Most likely there will be a new update this week.
Thank you!

Hi,
We are aware of these issues and they are currently being fixed. A theme update will be released soon, most likely this week.
Thank you!
I suggest updating the PHP last. So after you update the theme manually.
Updating the theme manually is not difficult. There are 2 ways:
1. I see you have cPanel -> https://brahmanjournal.com/cpanel In cPanel there is a file manager, which you can use to navigate to the themes folder and delete the theme, then you can upload the new theme version and extract it there.
2. Or you can update the theme through wordpress. Switch to a different theme, then delete the Newspaper theme and install the latest version.
Once the new theme version is installed, on the website you can navigate to the theme plugins panel and update the theme plugins from there -> https://prnt.sc/8G-T118T0O09
There is a more detailed guide here if you want to check it out -> https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/
Thank you!
Hi,
That issue refers to the composer from the Newspaper theme, it was related to the button element which Newsmag doesn’t have. It was fixed partly in the previous Newspaper update but it needs an adjustment, we will release a new update this week most likely.
Thank you!
Hello,
We updated the Newspaper theme to the latest version on a staging site. After the update, the homepage and category pages are not displaying correctly because the old Newspaper shortcodes are no longer working.
Could you please let us know if there is a way to restore support for these legacy shortcodes, or if the pages will need to be rebuilt using the latest version of the theme?
Here is staging site: https://stgtbrnewsmed.wpenginepowered.com/
Thank you.
I’ve installed Newsmag. The version i have on my site is : 5.4.3.6. If i try to update, it won’t.
How come the problem is stated as version 5.4.5?
This is a warning that comes up in Worfence : https://www.wordfence.com/threat-intel/vulnerabilities/wordpress-plugins/td-composer/tagdiv-composer-545-reflected-cross-site-scripting
As the problem is present since July 6, 2026, with a last update with no change on July 16, 2026, i am wondering when you’re going to address this problem.
Dear tagDiv Support,
I am using the Newsmag theme purchased through ThemeForest.
My ESET antivirus detects one of the tagDiv plugins as a potential threat. I would like to know whether this is a known false positive or if there is an updated version of the plugin that resolves this issue.
The detected plugin is: tagDiv Composer.
The antivirus reports the following threat:
HTML/Scinject.B trojan.
Could you please investigate this issue and let me know how I can safely resolve it?
If necessary, I can provide screenshots of the ESET warning and any additional information you may need.
Thank you for your assistance.
Kind regards,
Hi Simion,
Yes, the extra menu was something we added while testing a few possible external solutions, but it also helped us identify the root cause of the issue.
We just wanted to let you know that the mobile menu is working correctly. The problem is that the website is loading too slowly, so until it finishes loading, it doesn’t allow the menu to open. Once the site has fully loaded, the menu works without any issues.
We are currently in contact with our server support team to find a solution. Thank you for taking the time to check our website.
Regarding the updates, we won’t be performing them this weekend because we’re expecting increased traffic. We’ll be livestreaming a cattle show in Guatemala, so we’d rather avoid making changes during that time. We will most likely handle the updates next week.
Once we determine what is causing the website to break when we update the PHP version, what would you recommend as the best order for the remaining updates? Should we:
-Update the PHP version
-Update the theme
-Install the tagDiv Standard Pack plugin
Please let us know your advice on this, as well as any other suggestions you may have regarding the update process. Thanks in advance!
WordFence is warning of a “critical vulnerability” with the TagDiv composer plugin. Is there a patch or update expected soon?
I’ve installed a new purchase of NewsMag on a Multi-site domain. It required me to update the tagDiv plugins. When I did it caused another site on the Multi-site WordPress to break (It is running NewsPaper theme). When I logged into that domain it required me to update the tagDiv plugins. When I did, it broke the original domain running NewsMag. I’ve gone back and forth between the two sites several times updating one and then having to update the other — same results each time. It appears the updates bleed across the domains and are not the same. I need them both up and running at the same time.
I just updated this theme, wordpr4ess and everything on the site – but now we get a 500 error, possibly explaining why our new ads don’t appear.
Also, I bought a new license because the initial developer’s might have expired. My account was charged, but no confirmation appeared in any of the usual spots.
Heaven knows where this support question ends up.
Hi,
Currently I see some kind of custom mobile menu, or from a plugin, on top of the theme mobile menu -> https://prnt.sc/xr6is1rpWCft That extra mobile menu is displayed over the entire mobile header actually, meaning that I can’t click on the theme mobile menu, the logo, or the search.
If I delete that extra menu using the browser inspector, then the theme mobile menu seems to work correctly -> https://prnt.sc/tTDRcRp4z_Qw It opens correctly. So the only problem I see is that there is an extra menu in the mobile header, making it impossible to interact with the theme header.
About updating, if the website broke after updating the PHP, that can be caused by multiple things. Could be because of a plugin that doesn’t support newer PHP versions, or custom code, or the child theme as I see you use one, or an inactive extension in the new PHP version, or other causes. I suggest testing on a staging/testing clone of the main website, in order to deal with the issues there first.
From the theme perspective, if you update it just make sure to install this standard pack plugin -> https://prnt.sc/zkjDfLHkzSHy That’s a plugin we added in Newspaper 10. Normally it’s optional, but for older websites it’s required. Older websites are built with the older blocks, grids, templates, etc. and they will not display correctly without that plugin.
Thank you!
We stopped updating the theme over a year ago because it requires to update the PHP version from our 7.4 to 8.3. We could update the PHP, but when we did try to update it broke everything. All the pages got messed up and we had to roll back the site. So it either broke the WPbakery page builder or the Tag DIV. We were afraid to update again as it took hours to roll back the site. We are not sure if you started using your own builder or what, but this is a very large site and we did not want to lose everything. Not sure why now the mobile menu will not work – but it does not open. We would like to either find a way to update the site with the existing theme but NOT break everything we have; Or we will have to abandon this theme. Any suggestions? Our site is located at https://brahmanjournal.com/ Maybe we did something wrong when we updated the site. If you can help us we would appreciate it. If we need to pay for a new support I can do that, we have had this theme a long time and would like to keep it if possible.
What if you activate the theme options to load the styles in the header? The options are in the theme panel -> https://prnt.sc/C7UG2E3pnput Please activate those settings and clear the caching. Then you could update the plugin again and check if the issue is solved.
Thank you!
That’s on our to do list. We will try to add it in a future update.
Thank you!
sorry for the VPN thing…the hosting is some from the government, because its a website for the County in Croatia…I didnt know about the restrictions…
this is what they said to me:
Last wordfence security team alert us to minor security issue for outputting script and style may cause security issue, we are now using wp_kses function to escape accordion content, which causing strip all style and scripts from 3rd party shortcode, to solve this issue, third party plugins authors must update their plugin to load style and script to header or footer not via old style via content.
what should I do?
I had to use a VPN to see the website, maybe it is restricted per country. It would have been useful to know about it before.
Either way, now I can see the website and I’m checking it now. The problem seems to be solved after you downgraded the plugin. But please let’s try to clarify the cause of the problem.
So you are using the Accordion plugin you mentioned. And after you updated it there is a problem, meaning that CSS styles from the theme are getting displayed in the page. Then after you downgraded the plugin, the problem was solved. Since the theme works correctly with the older version of the plugin, or by itself, maybe the problem is with the updated version of the Accordion.
I will let our developer team know about it, but I can’t promise that the plugin will be tested unfortunately. It remains to be seen.
I’m very sorry for the inconvenience.
Thank you!
Hello tagDiv Team,
I noticed that the Social Counter element includes support for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, X (Twitter), and others, but there is no option to add Threads.
Since Threads by Meta has become a major social media platform and many publishers and news organizations actively use it, I believe it should be included as a supported social network in the Social Counter element.
Could you please let me know if there are any plans to add Threads support in a future update? It would be a valuable addition for publishers like us.
Thank you!
Hi Support Team,
I hope you’re doing well.
I’m facing an issue with how my website name is displayed in Google Search results.
Currently, whenever one of my pages or blog posts appears on Google, the site name is being displayed as product-wiki.com instead of the website name I have configured.
I have already updated the website name across the theme settings and wherever applicable to:
Product Wiki
(with a capital P and capital W, separated by a space).
However, Google Search results are still showing product-wiki.com as the site name instead of Product Wiki.
Could you please let me know:
Is there any specific setting within the theme that controls the site name displayed in Google Search?
Is there anything else I need to configure to ensure Google recognizes Product Wiki as the website name instead of the domain name?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Best regards,
Kunal Salekar
It’s all a mess. In order to use the Cloud plugin I have to got back to the previous version of Newspaper and non of the headers work with the Journal template.
Why would you mess with working websites like this?
This is why I stopped using templates like these. There is always one issue after another. Especially these updates that are hell bent on screwing with past working settings.
Hi,
I can’t say unfortunately. We are preparing a maintenance update now, but we’ll see what kind of new features we can include in future updates.
Thank you!
Hi,
The new wordpress update is a maintenance update, it contains bug fixes exclusively -> https://wordpress.org/news/2026/07/wordpress-7-0-1-maintenance-release/ There’s no major change that would cause our theme or plugins to create problems. We updated as well and everything looks fine so far -> https://prnt.sc/HsRSL5zcamiH
I believe you are using wordpress 6.7.5 now -> https://prnt.sc/qkLmmAxiLrsr So you used wordpress 7 before and it worked fine, then you updated to 7.0.1 and there were problems, and then you installed 6.7.5? Or you updated from 6.7.5 to 7.0.1? Either way however, the theme should not create any problems.
If you want I can take a look at it. Do you maybe have a testing/staging clone of the main website, where wordpress can be updated and the issue can be investigated? If you have a staging or you can create one, then it’s better to test there instead of the main website which works fine at this time. If this is possible, please send the link to the staging and the login user/pass and contact@tagdiv.com Also please include access to cPanel or FTP.
Thank you!
