I have just updated the theme to latest version. And I had read about the new amp developments.
1- The issue is with WP Bakery
Some functionalities are not working when tag div composer and wp bakery? For example we disabled some rows so that they are not visible on frontend. But they are still visible. Yes, tagdiv is installed and enabled.
2 – The issue with amp.
We are using WPML for multi language website. The view of homepages and posts are different than each other. Please see the screen shots here. Are we missing any steps and modifications?

3 – When we test some posts with google amp tester, first we get non-amp submitted result but with a reference. Seeing the amo version result confirms that it is a valid amp page. Is this normal?

Yes, I also update the theme through “envato market” plugin. You can update.
Also, when you check for wordpress updates, it will also show the theme and plugins update. You can update from there also.
The reason for this may be you have made the website using WP Bakery Page Builder or other page builder software.
I also had this problem. Kindly go to Newspaper -> Plugins and update “Tagdiv composer” and “tagDiv social Counter”
Once you update it, the website will become normal as before.

Please help! How do I remove the 9.7 version of the theme? I cannot use the back end of the site and now nothing shows up on the site at all, and when it did, it was completely deconstructed in layout and design.

Can we assume that the legacy code in header-style-10 will not be updated each time td-composer plugin is updated? Previously, we used mods to that code in a child theme to select an appropriate header for a page. Clearly, that doesn’t work anymore. We will investigate the use of cloud header templates but it is sad to see such a useful capability disappear.

I recently updated the newspaper theme and have now noticed that the video post templates now do not work.
We use Youtube and dailymotion video links to auto generate the thumbnails and place the video at the top of the article in video post templates style 9 and 10.
However, with Youtube videos it now just displays the thumbnail, which when clicked opens up the thumbnail in a lightbox. With dailymotion videos nothing shows at all – no thumbnail or video player.
Any help fixing would be appreciated as we’re a video first publisher.
Hello! I have a site with newspapper 8.7, and when I updated to 9.7 I could no longer enter the wordpress administration.
Now I had to undo the change, but there is some problem of incompatibility to upload the version from 8.7 to 9.7?
After the latest update the Single Image Widget is not resizing or showing the shadow option.
I have tried to update a copy of the site to latest wordpress and newspaper version and the problem is still the same.

If you refresh the page on a mobile phone the top ad suddenly dissapears. This only happens when looking at post. Pages works fine.

since the last update, When I try to enter the admin I get this error:

We checked some of the latest articles for amp validation too.

Update-on the same day we installed wp-rocket plugin too. Could that be in an issue?

There were two things. First was one of my stupidity, did not read the latest information, so I did not notice that after the update I need to activate tagDiv composer again.
The second one was some custom made changes made previously, nothing directly to do with tagdiv stuff at all, once we fixed and made changes it worked charmingly without any issues.

Sorry but doesn’t seem to be too much “understanding” here when you implement this type of change that has major implications and use Envato as the fall guy.
IMHO what you should do is continue to support the current 9.6.1 (which currently has a cross scripting vulnerability) and release 9.7.x as a new theme or some other option to allow those of us who are using the theme not strictly “out of the box” to continue to use it without having to spend many hours or ask our clients to expend hundreds if not thousands of dollars to continue using a theme, that we recommended to them and now look like chumps for having done so.
That being said Envato’s documentation which you choose to use as cover also states
“To reduce the chance of users being negatively affected if they do not install/update the plugin, themes may choose to include a fallback until 30 November 2019. This is not compulsory.”
