Calin, hello!

Please, do not underestimate my note. I am also a developer. This is not a misunderstanding about the viewport or the device on which they were scheduled to appear … They do not appear correctly at the same screen size for which they were intended. Even the green background and the blue background of whatsapp and telegram appear, but the central icon (Unicode) does not. And there is another problem. They do not work correctly on iOS devices in Safari. As I said, I created a function of my own to play the same role because in our page rendering optimization measures we thought it would be the best solution. And for me, at least, the situation has been resolved. But I think of other users who, like me, are having the same difficulty but have no resources or knowledge to solve on their own … Here, in my case, I have a portal with a large number of hits and the sharing function is essential, for user engagement and improved direct access numbers …

We are solving with the development of a specific function for sharing (we will put utm parameters in generated links for tracking).

Also, we realize that the generation of Newsmag sharing icons renders long after the page has been rendered, and let’s test if there is any performance improvement with our own function.

Until then, we are using a small css hack to get the icons working … Not in proportion, but for now they work …

This custom CSS:

.td-icon-whatsapp:before {
content: url(wp-content/uploads/2019/12/whatsapp_icon.png);
margin-left: -11px;
}
.td-icon-telegram:before {
content: url(wp-content/uploads/2019/12/telegram_icon.png);
margin-left: -11px;
}

Hi Calin,

Thank you for your prompt reply. So I tested disabling all plugins except TD composer … Same result … But I don’t imagine there could be a conflict, as only Telegram and Whatsapp have X instead of the appropriate unicode symbol. The others appear perfectly.
Sounds like a problem with the custom newsmag font …

Hello boyztimes,

I also had the same problem. I was told that I did not have data source, that is why the images do not appear on social sharing. In order to fix that, yoast seo plugin was installed -> https://kb.yoast.com/kb/getting-open-graph-for-your-articles/

After installing yoast seo also, you need to set featured images of less than 300kb, for the image to show in the social sharing of Whatsapp. You could use Photoshop or any plugin to optimize images. Else, you could use this online website to optimize images -> http://www.resizeimage.4u2ges.com/ .

In mobile mode, Whatsapp and Telegram (maybe other, I do not test all) are missing… It shows only a square in color of app (green for whatsapp, blue for telegram) and a X for image error into that…

Hello!

That is because this option is made for the mobile device that have the Whatsapp install, this will work only if the visitor on your website is connect to Whatsapp on desktop.

Thank you!

How to disable post views count?
Also, when I share a post on Whatsapp, the featured image isn’t loading. How do I do that?

Hi,

You do not need to add your number for sharing on whatsapp , this option is enable only on mobile version, so the users that visit your website to can share on whatsapp your posts.

Hi,

Good evening, I purchased the “Animals Magazine” template and noticed that every time you try to share an article on whatsapp from any smartphone (even on whatsapp web for example), the photo is not displayed. On other social media like facebook the photo is displayed correctly. I tried to make a share also from your site sharing for example this article: https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_animals_pro/2019/03/14/td-post-habitat-fragmentation-causes-inbreeding-in-california- cougars / but as you can verify no preview photo is displayed.
I await the resolution of the problem.

Thanks

Hi,

Please notice that even if the Whatsapp share button is showing on desktop the function behind is made only for mobile device, when you click on the Whatsapp button will try to find this app on the mobile phone and if you are not on a mobile device this will not work.

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi,
a few weeks a go we added the custom code you provided to add WA button on desktop version.
suddenly it stopped working.

This is what we added:

.td-social-whatsapp {
display: inline-block;
}

i send you a link to one post of our website so you can check.
