7.2 error problem

Hi,

Today update my theme from 7.1.1 to 7.2 by folder patch update “patch_7.1.1_7.2”.

After enter the site and admin, auto generate one error in erro_log

[06-Jul-2016 14:06:23 UTC] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end, expecting ‘)’ in /home/**user**/public_html/wp-content/themes/newspaper/includes/td_config.php on line 3575

Hi,
This means the update was not done properly. Maybe you did not copy all of the files or in the right path. If you have any custom modification, make a back-up of it and do a clean update by following this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/ and test the theme without modifications and without a child theme.

Hi Bogdan,

could you explain what is the purpose of the files included in that folder (Newspaper-tf/patch_7.1.1_7.2) please ?
because they are php files (have to be on server to be used) but they are not included in the installation folder.

Hi,
The patch is used if you update your theme from version 7.1.1 to 7.2. You simply need to copy the files and folders from the patch overt to your main theme folder so not all of your files will be replaced. This is usefull if you have customization done to the theme files. If you don;t have customization then you can use the default update process and ignore the patch.
