Hello there, in your blog where you talking about the 6.6 update you are saying:
This Newspaper 6.6 update brings some major under the hood improvements in preparation for a bigger update.
I wonder when that “bigger update” is going to be released?
I’m just asking because i have a heavily customized site still running on wp 4.3 which requires some effort to be updated. My two considerations is:
to update to wp 4.4
and
to update to your latest newspaper theme
So, i m planning to wait a couple of weeks to see if 4.4 is proven secure and i would like to know your plans for that “bigger update” so i can maybe wait some more time to do a complete wp4.4 + your theme update.
If you don’t have any information about when that “bigger update” is going to be released then i’ll just do my complete update whenever i think 4.4 is “mature”.
So, if you have any guess for that “bigger update” release time it will be very helpfull for me 😀

Unfortunately the ‘big update’ has no release date yet. It is in the works. Right now we are releasing a dot revision update for the new WP 4.4 to fix some of the things it broke on our theme. As you said, it’s not mature yet :).
Sorry but it’s to early to estimate a release date for the new big update.

Hmm. I’m using Newspaper 6.6.1 on WordPress 4.4 and don’t notice anything broken.
That said, I’m brand new to Newspaper, so I don’t have previous experience to base it on.
