I am developing a website using Newspaper 9. My company purchased the theme but we have not activated it yet, because we are still on a test server (domain name pending). Today I logged in and found that the theme has been locked down along with all back-end functionality. I have tried to activate it but the link [click here to anter your code] is not working and there is no manual activation link either. I tried switching to another theme from plesk and then to Newspaper again, but nothing changed, except from losing the menu and the tagdiv block modules.

Maybe something happened. Try to reinstall the theme, delete it and install it again. While the theme is not activated there should always be the option to activate it.
Note that you can activate the theme in testing or development environments, that will not be a problem. This is mentioned in the guide
