adding star rating to posts

I have a publishing site. users upload their own stories(posts) to my site using the wp user frontend plugin.
I am trying to incorporate your star rating to the posts.how do I do that?
I am not able to activate the star rating system onto the posts.
I can add the shortcakes to the postage using the compost but it is not doing anything.
is there a way to activate the star rating feature for all posts?

however I tried to add the star rating element to the single post but they are not working.
I was wondering how to activate the star rating.
do I need a plugin

icanrite.com is a self publishing site so users can add their own stories, poems…

I have tried to add the element “single post user reviews overall” and “single post review overall” to the end of the post page so users can star the post.

however as you can see it does not work.
it shows the stars but user can not click it
how can I activate the star system you have.
I am sure im missing something or doing something wrong here
