After update – Page titles only display web address – not titles

Since updating the theme, every page displays the websites address as the title and not the page title. This has happened since updating both main and child themes today.

Urgent help is appreciated.

Further to this – I am unable to access any of the theme panel pages in the backend apart from the first loaded one?

look into the child functions and change the number 1001 to 11 in line 22.

Already done – makes no difference

Okay I have fixed this using: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/help-after-updating-to-9-7-3-on-the-website-all-titles-were-gone/

However, I want to revert to 9.7.2 as my post layouts have changed too – is there any way to get the old theme files?

Hi,

That solutions in that topic should fix the title issues after the latest update. Sorry for the inconvenience.
For child theme users, making the modification mentioned above in the functions file of the child theme will solve an issue when having the child theme active will cause problems. The child theme in the 9.7.3 package contains this modification.

@PrateekBiyani
If you don’t have a backup or the previous theme package, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and we will provide it to you. Also if possible mention what issues you are having after the update regarding the post layouts, maybe there is an issue, if there is we will fix it. Please let us know.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply! Well my posts: https://www.dentalnotebook.com/scenario-incomplete-treatment/ as an example. The featured image used to be a full band across with the title overlaying it. It looks broken and weird now – supposed to be ‘Style 3’.

Additionally, when I try to select sections in the theme panel, they seem to do nothing. They just add an # to the URL.

Try updating WPBakery. I had a similar issue and it fixed it for me.

I don’t even have WPBakery installed – never have done for this theme.

Do you edit your pages in the TagDiv composer?

No – my POSTS are just through the standard visual WordPress editor. My PAGES are using the composer but they are fine.

Hi,

It looks like that because of the background image. If there is a background color or image set in the theme panel the website will be boxed (limited width)
https://forum.tagdiv.com/background-introduction/
If you should remove the background image, the post template will again be full width. Let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks

I can’t edit any aspect of the theme in the theme panel. Any time I click one of the options, it just adds a # to the URL and doesn’t go anywhere…

That’s unusual. Does it happen if you deactivate the child theme? try clearing the cache, and purge CDN if you use it. Also try to deactivate all non-theme plugins to see if it is a plugin conflict.

If nothing works we could take a look at it, send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Switching to the main theme has fixed the layout problem I had – but it hasn’t fixed the issue in the admin panel?

If you can send us an email we will check it out. We may need to deactivate your plugins, for testing. If possible also provide FTP or cPanel, that may be needed as well.

From what I know there weren’t any similar issues reported after the last update, something must be causing it in your case.
