some how when posting a new article the inserts of newspapper theme inside the post box seem to freeze the website if the post window stays too long open. Is there any way to disable this to only use regular wordpress editor ?

Hi,

This is quite strange for me the theme is working without problems.
The posts that you have now look normal, just please make sure that all the settings are like in our requirements, please follow the guide carefully – https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/
and please increase all requirements that are lower, and follow all steps.
Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict with untested plugins, please deactivate all non theme/tested plugins, also if you are using child theme, clear all cache and try again.
If you don’t use a security plugin, please ask your host about this, maybe you have a security module which blocks this.
If you use a plugin like Wordfence please set it in learning mode.

Thank you!

Thank you in have tried this and its getting better however now the website is freezing when someone posts a new article. The hosting service says somehow the PHP-FPM service gets looped causing the website to freeze. Also tried putting wordfence in learning mode but it turned put slower than the regular mode. I’m lost, any suggestions?

May I know which hosting you are using?

Inmotion.com

The support team says somehow Ajax requests from admin area are looping the PHP-FPM service this happens when someone creates a new post so I also thought it was the editor and I disabled it and installed the classic editor.

Did the problem solve after switching to the classic editor?

It is better but still , if the site happens to have many visitors at the time someone is posting it freezes

Yes. I also tested. There is some issue with WP post editor. If you open Gutenberg editor or while writing a post CPU usage will go high.

Hi Daniel,

I am already in touch with dev team and they are inspecting the issue. Can you please tell me when exactly you are experiencing the CPU usage issue on your server? like writing a post or uploading an image or changing any settings etc. It would be good if you elaborate on the issue a bit so that I can recreate it issue on my site.

Thank you here is a full description:

It seems like when somebody from our reporters (ours is a news website) is writing a new post the Ajax service starts hanging , then when they upload the image and send a post everything looks OK for a few seconds, after that the website starts hanging up to 30 seconds before responding talking about this matter with the support team of our hosts (inmotion.com) they can see an increase in PHP-FPM service until it starts creating to many “max_children” at the point that they start using all vps memory.

We have a VPS 6GB memory with 6TB Bandwith and we use WP Fast Cache as recommended

After these the support team (inmotion) suggested to increase the Apache workers and for a day it worked fine but then it started again when we added new posts.

Funny thing is that when we restart the apache and PHP server with the posts already there it can hold up a lot of visitors and a lot of hits at the same time with no problem for days, The problem comes back as soon as we enter a new post.

This has made us believe the problem is somehow related to the editor after installing the News theme the editor changed and it’s now showing the right bar on the right side of the editor window we tried changing the editor for the classic editor but is the same thing, the moment reporters start finishing their post and uploading the image or selecting the preview image its when it starts slowing down, after finishing and sending the post we already are about 30secs delay to respond.

What we have been doing so far is writting the post sending it and right after that restarting Apache service and FPM. that’s how we have been surviving so far.

Suspects are: Ajax , PHP-FPM , Editor , and ofcourse the Theme

Thank You !
Daniel
