I am unfortunately very far behind on updates. I’ve been procrastinating upgrading because of customization’s that I have and also things have been busy (which is a weak excuse I know). I plan on upgrading tomorrow to the latest and greatest. I am currently on version 4.6.1 and will be going to 6.5.1.
I’m hoping this will be an easy upgrade, but wanted to post here first to see if there is anything that I need to be aware of first? I’m making a complete site backup before upgrading, so I’ll have access to my older files so hopefully I can get back any customization’s easily.
Any advice or comments would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply! I went ahead and upgraded the theme this morning, but there are quite a few things that are wrong that I’m going to need help with.
For starters, I the Visual Composer doesn’t seem to be working. When I try to edit my front page, I don’t see any of the composer options, so there is very little I can do right now to try and fix my front page. I have tried removing and reinstalling, but that didn’t help. I edited the php.ini file per instructions I found via search and that didn’t help. I even purchased the plugin (I’ve been thinking about buying it anyways) and installed that version, but I still can’t make any changes. Please help!
For some reason when I tried on a different computer, I could get the visual composer to work. But now I’m having trouble getting the “Big Grid Slide” to work like it did before. I would like to to show up to eight posts, but it only shows the first four and when it scrolls, the next block of four is blank.

Interesting note, I’ve been playing around and have the post limit set to 8 showing posts from the “slideshow” category and sorted by most popular (jetpack method); but now it’s showing the same four posts. Weird.

I see that you use Visual Composer 4.8.1, please note that this version was not tested with the theme, so if you still have issues with it I suggest to install version provided with the theme(4.7.4).
I’m not sure what settings you use for Big Grid Slider, I didn’t managed to recreate this. Also you use unique articles on page? Did you used only 2 day Jetpack sort order? Unfortunately we found that, it doesn’t work properly on blocks with pagination and also on sliders(on second page it shows the same posts), sorry!
If this is what you mean, please use Jetpack sort order on blocks without pagination until we find a fix for it.

Please advise as to how I can have a total of 8 slides between two main slides on my home page. I have gone through every single Sort Order option and none of them work as expected.
Also, one of the other major issues that I’m having is that all of my post templates are now wrong. They are all now Style 4, but I need them to be Style 7. I’ve got about 4000 posts, how can I fix this? I’ve tried setting the post default template to Style 7, but that doesn’t fix this.

The recommended version of visual composer is the one that comes with the theme and can be installed from the theme panel: http://screencast.com/t/9jz0TaSmO6
Please only use this version and not other ones as they can create problems.
The post template problem comes from the update from version 4 of the theme. New post templates were added and this made the existing ones switch to another post template with the same number as the one in version 4. In order to reset your posts to the global default you can follow this topic here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/change-style-of-multiple-posts-at-once/

Please do not use the Jetpack sort order on sliders and/or blocks with pagination as it will not work fine. Try to change the sort order and if you still have issues please provide a link so we can take a look.

This is getting ridiculous. I’ve already given you a link and have already stated that I’ve tried every other sort order option and none work. This is taking WAY to long to get resolved! Please assist ASAP!
P.S. Directly from the settings page “For popular posts we recommend the jetpack (24-48hrs) method”. If this is not recommend, then why say it is in the settings???

Sorry I did not see your site! If you still have issues with the Big Slider please send an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide wp-admin access so we can take a closer look, also paste a link to this topic so we can know who you are and what your issue is.
Unfortunately the Jetpack sort order was not designed for blocks with pagination or sliders. This is a new feature of the theme and for the moment we don’t have documentation for it. we will try to improve our documentation also regarding this and if we don’t find a fix for this sort option we will specify in the documentations that it doesn’t work on this kind of blocks.
