Love the theme! The website that I am putting together will have a static front page with the blog page being the blog. I am trying to customize the blog page with the visual editor in the page backend but It is not letting me change the look of the blog. Is there any way to make the blog page look like the Category Template 1? I want the blog page to have the newspaper theme front page feel with the same sidebars in the category template 1.

Hello creativepile,

If you want to customize your Blog page, please notice that you will have to check your Theme panel->Templates settings, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/QDGDAXR0Mw and if you want to add a grid to the top of your Blog page you will have to use the do_shortcode method and add it to the index.php core file like this -> http://screencast.com/t/gfVgHeg43A3 and the result you should see here -> http://screencast.com/t/9pOKFBkt

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi Catalin,

Thanks for your reply. I tried doing what you suggested on my blog page by editing the index.php.. When I check the blog page this code [td_block_big_grid] is at the top above blog page feed. What do you think I am doing wrong?

When I went to Theme panel->Templates settings like you mentioned, I can’t deselect the article display view like it is in your screencast. Right now my article display view is on m2. As for the custom sidebar position I have the right sidebar chosen with default sidebar in place.

Is there a way to be able to customize the look through the blog feed page using the visual editor? I basically want the blog page to look like the front page newspaper look not just the banner.

Hello creativepile,

Please ensure that you have right added the shortcode into the index.php core file , like this -> http://screencast.com/t/r0I9rlwxB5O and the result -> http://screencast.com/t/vY4mtkMf
You can provide your website URL so I can inspect it closer.

Thanks for your understanding!

Hi Catalin,
We got the site up with the codes that you suggested and noticed the mobile theme still shows the latest articles on the front page. is there a setting for this that I missed? I downloaded the Tagdiv mobile theme plugin and went through the settings but it still shows the latest articles on the front page or do I need to change the code in the index page for this issue?

Thanks again for all your help!

Hello creativepile,

Please notice that the Mobile Theme is too different than the general responsiveness mobile mode, are two different things. The mobile theme has been designed to display only the Big Grid in the top of your homepage, some text if it will be write in the mobile editor from Visual Composer and the Latest Articles modules which will be displayed at the bottom of your page. For more information about our mobile theme concept, please refer to the documentation here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-mobile-theme/
If you want to change the structure of it, please notice that it is needed to make some additional customization through mobile theme plugin that involves custom work and we cannot provide this type of services at the moment, sorry!

Thanks for your understanding!
