Hi,
I am trying to change the fonts (from default to robot condensed) on my website (which is still under construction). We recently updated to Newspaper 6.5 and now the fonts section in the theme panel does not even open any more (whereas on Newspaper 6.2 I could access the fonts settings, but the fonts did not follow the change on the page).
The next question then would be how to change the size of the fonts for headlines, menu, etc.
I am a wp-beginner and not experienced with CSS, so a step-by-step guide would be greatly appreciated.

All the option you are looking for are in the theme panel -> fonts section. https://forum.tagdiv.com/font-customization/
This menu should be accessible from the theme panel. Please try to disable all plugins except visual composer and try again. You can also check your browser inspector’s console and see what causes the error. for example we use chrome: ctrl+shift+i and it will bring up the inspector then click the console tab: http://screencast.com/t/iCqTDEhswH and then click the fonts section and see what error comes up in the console area.

This is what the inspector console tells me when I try to open the fonts in the theme panel: SyntaxError: JSON Parse error: Unrecognized token ´<´
Deactivating all plugins except visual composer did not help.

In this situation the best thing you can do is do a clean install of the theme. Please delete your theme and do a fresh install via ftp: https://forum.tagdiv.com/install-via-ftp/. Make sure you back-up first: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
