cant activate them – tried manual, cache etc, rather urgent

i’m left in limbo land having deleted old them as instructed. some quick response appreciated

thanks. having just spent an entire weekend dealing with the difficulties caused by a fresh install to get my site into working order again, i really don´t fancy going down that path.
even if it worked, and even if it went smoothly we are talking hours of time just to get my install to accept an activation key.
surely there has to be an easier way?
and surely if that is the way to ´properly´install the theme, that should be reflected in the instruction video.

But anyway:
Main issues are often using too old version of PHP. Anything prior to 5.6 should not be used anymore, as it *will* cause issues with many things related to WP moving forward, esp if running really old end of life stuff like 5.2 or 5.3.

i was on php 5.4

i have just changed it to 5.6

5.4 has 25 services/options checked

5.6 had 22

i have checked the missing 3 – those being

opcache
ioncube loader
zen guard loader

is that all making sense man, as i am well out of my comfort zone here?

unfortunately the php version didn’t seem to make a difference, still not working with key, or with key via manual and td provided manual activation key

Might have been the PHP cache or another caching thing in WordPress.

One of my other secret tricks is to clear transients by
a) use WP-Optimize plugin
b) resave permalinks

this both will clear stuck ‘transients’ which are micro-caching done by WordPress (like, oh, say you make change to your RSS, but the RSS not updating when you look at it- this is why).

But for us – seriously, going to PHP 5.6 from 5.4 solved a million little dumb weird things!

ah – there you go, i think you’ve got it. on another support thread a user suggested moving to php 5.6 – i did so a few days ago – haven’t resolved the other issue yet – but if it fixed the activation, great – and come to think of it a problem with module headers resolved ‘itself’ as well.
