I am using (cloud) category template 1 for all of my category pages. Pagination is not working on either the main template or the mobile version. I am not using the mobile plugin. I just created mobile templates.
No matter what number I set “Limit post number” to, that is less than the total number of posts that are in a particular category, the pagination numbers/navigation will appear at the bottom of the category pages. However, every category page except the first one is blank other than the template parts such as ads, header, etc.. There are post excerpts, etc. displayed except on the first page.
The only way around this is to set the WordPress limit in Settings>Reading to some high number. In that case, if I set Settings>Reading to a high number (like 100) and set Limit Post Number in the Post Loop settings to blank, there will be no pagination and all posts in a category will display on the category page. That is unacceptable when categories have a high number of posts.
How can I get the category pages to properly display all posts when using pagination so that if I set the Limit Post Number to 6, the remaining posts above that number will show on page 2, page 3, etc. of the category results?
Thank you.

bookman53. Reason: remove repeated word
Hi bookman53, if you are using a cloud template is possible to have set on the row with the loop posts to hide the row on pagination -> https://i.imgur.com/xjbVxja.png -> https://i.imgur.com/sL05OEF.jpg if this is selected and the post loop is in the same row this will be hidden when you’ll change the page.
Please check this and let me know!
Hi isilin, what template are you using standard or cloud template? because if is a cloud template you need to edit it with tagDiv Composer. Please provide a link and some more details about the settings that you’ve made.
Thank you!
Calin,
That solved the problem. Categories paginate correctly now. Thank you.
Could you clarify what would be the usefulness of that setting to hide the row on pagination? I can’t imagine any reason to hide it if one needs pagination to be active. Why have pagination if the row is hidden?
Hi,
Normal you need to use a different row for posts loop and that row should not have that option enable, but the rest of rows from the page content yes, in this way all the rows except the one with posts loop will be removed and when you’ll be on page to, you’ll see only the posts from pagination.
Thank you!
So my “posts loop” – named Recently Posted Articles has 4 posts per page. https://imgur.com/dlJsxN4
With tagdiv composer I change it to 6 (or any other number) https://imgur.com/44zaR82 and it does show change inside composer that everything is fine.
I click save and close composer and it is again 4 posts per page.
Hello !
Please send us a screenshot of your System Status Tab and make sure that all the requirements are met as you can see here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ ; You will have to first start looking for a plugin conflict. please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.
Also you can try and remove and re-install the tagDiv Composer plugin.
Let us know the results.
Thank you !
I said in my reply to Calin above that his advice had fixed my problem. But I’ve now discovered that the same solution does not work with the mobile version of the same category 1 template.
I made certain that the box that hides the row with pagination is not ticked.
I set the post loop to limit post number to six.
If I set pagination type to “Normal numbered,” I have the same problem that I detailed in my original post on any page after page one. Pages 2 and above are hidden. On the normal full page template with the same exact settings, pagination works fine.
I set pagination type on the mobile template to infinite or load more, etc., everything works fine. But numbered pagination is hiding pages after page 1, even with the hide row on pagination unchecked.
Is there something different about the mobile version that normal numbered pagination will not work?
Found the issue.
I have in same category: “Posts Loop” and “Posts Loop 2”
My “Posts Loop 2” was set to Limit post number = 4
Therefore anything I changed in “Posts Loop” did not work and after saving changed back to 4 in limit posts.
Is there any way to have different Limit post numbers to work in two different post loops on the same page/same category.
Thank you!!!
