Version 8 and 9 allowed me to easily create different sidebars for categories, then add different widgets to the sidebars.
This has disappeared in 11.4 – or I can’t find it and maybe someone can share where this feature was moved.
Within a post, I can “create a new sidebar” but then it never appears in the widgets area to add widgets. Any direction might be helpful. Thank you.

Also, for example, to have different sidebars in every category, you need to have a different template for each category.
If you want the same style of your categories, then you can duplicate a template/layout for every category to have a different template, make the specific changes and assign it to that category.
