Hello,
We recently installed a plug-in to share our articles on social media, we need it since we are a news website and share about 30 articles a day, but the only way we can make it work correctly is by using the excerpt when it shares on social media.
By manually adding an excerpt, the text that appears on the block on our page changes, and we would like to use shorter and less explicative text on social media, which will result in the text showed on the webpage not fitting with our likes.
On short, is there a way that the TagDiv blocks use anything else than excerpt to display on webpage?
I will also atach some printscreens so it would be easier to understand.
In the printscreens you will see how it appears on our website, and how we would want the description to be on facebook.
Thank you,
David Mihalache
Hello,
That is not what i asked for. We have a plug-in to automatically share the articles on our facebook page for us. They share with the excrept we are using in our article.
But that excerpt is also showing on our page, which is build with TagDiv.
We want, if it is possible, to make the TagDiv blocks use anything else but excrept to display on the website page (see the first screenshot that i sent). That is what we want to change.
Thank you
Hello David!
A workaround there could be to use a custom module. Check this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/modules-builder-newspaper-theme/
Thank you!
Hello,
We have tested the custom module feature, but it doesn’t help us. We need to be able to edit the Excerpt data source in order to get text from article, not from the excerpt section (we are using this section for other content with other plugin). Or, maybe, to replace the Excerpt section with a custom data source which could be provided by us from the article architecture.
Hello David!
I suggest you use the custom field element in the custom module: https://forum.tagdiv.com/custom-fields-support/
Thank you!
