Change number of "Latest Articles" and block style?

Hi! Is there a way to change the number and block style of latest articles on the Home page when using “pagebuilder + latest articles + paginator template setting? I’d like to limit it to 5 articles and change the block type to a style with one per row instead of two. Thanks!

(Actually, I could just use page builder, but I want the pagination style that’s built into “Latest Articles” instead of the very basic styles that come with the tagDiv composer blocks.)

Hi,

The latest articles has options for what you mention – https://forum.tagdiv.com/page-templates-2/
But there is currently an issue, the settings for it do not appear as they should when the template is selected
https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/cant-edit-some-sections-with-tagdiv-composer/
This issue will be solved in the next theme update, sorry for this inconvenience.

You could also use a post loop element in the page, the loop is similar to the latest articles section. Some loop examples you can preview and even edit here
https://affiliate.tagdiv.com/#/load/Blocks
These can be imported with the cloud library plugin
https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-cloud-library-plugin/
If you use a loop you can select the default page template instead of the latest articles template.

Thanks

Okay, so I’ve created my own “Latest” section using TD Composer and the Default setting on the homepage. Everything seems good *except* when I click on the pagination icons, it reloads the whole page instead of just the “Latest” section. Is there a way to avoid that and just load the next (previous) group of posts in the “Latest” section only? Thanks! http://www.HowNotToSail.com

That will be the case indeed. It is the same functionality as with the latest articles template. When the pagination is used the page will change to page 2/3/4 etc. This is how the numbered pagination works.

Blocks have ajax pagination options (the loop element has them too), meaning the page will not be refreshed, only the respective section. So in this case for the loop element you could choose for example the next/prev pagination instead of the numbered type

Thanks, Simon. I was really hoping for the numbered style with ajax pagination. Is there no way to accomplish that? I feel like the numbered style is commonly expected (and easier to see than the small/light Next and Prev, for example), but reloading the whole page and jumping back to the top seems unhelpful. Can I maybe do a child theme and modify? Or is there another solution? The placement of the numbered pagination also seems to suggest it would just operate on the block. If it were operating on the page, it seems like it should be placed centered just above the footer?

Thanks again, Simon! I know everybody has details and features they want. LOL. This is a great theme!

(Sorry to double-reply…but I just noticed, it looks like the behavior on the default “Lastest Articles” section is different, if you use Pagebuilder + latest articles + paginator for the page: In that case, it loads the next group of posts and hides the sections above “Latest Articles”. That behavior seems good for what I want. Is there a way to enable *that* behavior with the post loop I’m using?

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was wrong about the loop behaviour. It doesn’t function same as the latest articles template, but what you want to do can be done.

I believe in theme version an option was added to rows, this one
http://prntscr.com/mag35t
So for example if a loop with numbered pagination is used in the page, you can activate that option for all the other rows present in the page.
The result will be that starting from the second page of the loop, the other content in the page will not be loaded, exactly as the latest articles template.

You could try it like that, and sorry again for my mistake.
