I have a very important question for me. I have been working with Newspaper for 10 days on a free hosting because I wanted to practice with the theme. In these 10 days I have reached 90% customization. Soon I will have to export the theme to my cinema magazine. The question is when I export, by copying all the code to Notepad +++ I export all the custom theme? By everything I mean: header, footer, modified boxes, changes to colors and text, changes to the distances between the boxes and all the other settings. Is this correct or should I expect something that is not imported? Obviously I know very well that the articles and logos cannot be imported and in the same way the menus that I will have to recreate when I have imported the theme on my magazine.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Hello !
The import export option is working only for the theme panel settings. For the templates you will have to copy paste each one into a new template: https://www.screencast.com/t/hVNC4Ce0 ; Copy the code: https://www.screencast.com/t/yVuKQM8b9 and paste it on your new template.
Thank you !
Basically you didn’t tell me anything. I asked a specific question and I expect a precise answer. I’ll do it again and I hope you can understand: All the theme you see here https://nimagazine.altervista.org/ I can export it exactly like this? Net of articles.
Hi,
can you avoid answering my questions and having Calin answer me? I am sure that your support is very bad in the answers (the support I pay it you are not giving it to me for free). @Calin is certainly more detailed in his answers and more professional.
I want to know if I can export the added boxes, , as highlighted in the link https://ibb.co/YZn5ZcM
Together with the colors, fonts, changes on distances, hide or show of the meta info modified in the box, etc. If the answer is yes: what is the template that contains the boxes inserted in the home?
There is also a problem: to activate “newspaper” on my magazine I have to cancel this provisional because I don’t have two licenses.
It would be useful to have a momentary two-day license together with the one purchased, in order to have the theme also on the test site. This is to make sure everything is exported correctly.
Do you have a service that allows me to give you administrative powers for export? My site is not a blog but a magazine with 2,500,000 monthly views with over 25 editors. I can’t risk doing damage.

Is this tagdvi support on Newspaper? You give general answers which are found in the guide. And then you also want the renewal of the support asking for money? This is not a support.
If there is someone who is an expert on newspaper or some developer of it, can you answer the question?
Hi Lacasito70, sorry for the late answer, I will try to explain as correct I can and if is something that I miss or understand wrong, please let me know.
First the problem with license, this one is easier. you do not need to buy an extra license if you use it for your testing website on sub-domains, staging, localhost (practical is the same website so you do not need to worry about this). As proof that will not be any problems we set info in our guide -> https://i.imgur.com/HtBSdxe.png -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-6-how-to-activate-the-theme/ therefore you can use the same license for test and live website.
Unfortunately, the only system that we have for import/export is the one for theme panel settings -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/import-export-theme-settings/ for a complete migration, you need to use a plugin or import/export database (there are more options, but are not so easies and for your website I do not indicate them).
To not damage your website the copy and paste method is the safer, it will take some long time, but the problems that can appear are reduce.
If I understand correctly you made some new templates (header, footer…) also you make some pages. If those were made only with tagDiv Composer without theme panel settings then it will be more easier, for example move one of your cloud templates from staging, copy the content from staging -> https://i.imgur.com/OJ5Yli3.png -> https://i.imgur.com/kdmxs0H.png (if you want you can use a blank template but it need to have the same type) -> then past the code -> https://i.imgur.com/LtiGzBt.png also please check your website after each transfer.
Also if you change the homepage layout, to not lose your seo, you can copy the current content in another page as backup and replace the content of old homepage with the new one and keep the same url.
Also if you create new templates and you successfully transfer, you need to assign them manually in theme panel.
Using the above methods all the blocks will be imported with the settings that are made.
Also I recommend to start with the cloud template first and make sure that all plugins from staging are enable on the online website and only after you set the cloud template copy the pages.
If is something that I miss or do not understand correctly, please let me know.
Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience!
Hi,
thanks for the very detailed answer. I apologize to your colleague but I ask specific questions and I seek precise answers. Your answer was perfect.
So, I did some tests: I saved all the templates in notepad ++ with the name header, footer, date, category, etc. But I also saved the Home page code. Then I deleted the Newspaper theme by deactivating and then deleting the plugins and finally I cleared the cache (purge cache all).
At this point the site was virgin (clean).
I reinstalled newspaper and I uploaded the demo Magazine Pro.
I went to Cloud Templates and I replaced the code I had saved saved on each template (header, footer, date, category, etc,). Then I went to the Theme Panel and imported the code I had saved. However, this was not enough to have the whole theme that I had changed it. I only saw the correct header and footer. So I went to the pages and I opened the home page and I replaced the original code with the one I had saved from the modified home page. In this way I have revised the whole theme as it was previously. Is my procedure correct?
I have always done these operations on the test site and not on the Magazine where I have to export everything. I would like to know if the procedure I used is correct.
Thanks Calin, your response was very professional and that’s what a person expects from serious support. My compliments.
I await your answer on the questions I wrote above.
Thanks,
Alex
Hi Lacasito70,
Yes, this is the right method that will work and should not provide any problems but it will take a little time to do it.
I’m glad that you manage to do it without any problems!
If you have other questions, please do not hesitate to let us know!
Thank you!
Hi Calin,
thank you for the confirmation. I have other questions but I prefer to resolve the theme import issue first, then I will ask other questions. I believe that Newspaper is not that complicated. We need to understand the block mechanism. When you understand this mechanism, even in its details, it becomes quite easy. I believe that those who have never used a block theme should train themselves to build a page on a test site and then when they understand the basic concepts do a clean installation of the theme.
Thanks again for the answers.
Hi Calin,
I have performed the procedure to import the theme and templates. I lost a lot of time but the homepage is now the same as the test page where I had done the tests.
The problem is that the “single posts” and other articles are not changed and I cannot understand why. I copied the code from the test pages into the template categories, single post, date, etc. When I go to edit the page and then click save I don’t see the changes.
I tried in two ways: the first method I used is to go to the single post and then edit it (by clicking on save). Then I went to click on the single post but the changes were not applied. So I entered the individual templates (single post, category, etc.) and I made the change by saving but even in this way the change was not applied. I lost two hours of my time but I haven’t found a solution. I also tried to put back the standard code of the template, I then modified and saved but even in this way the modification is not applied.
To be short, the template remains the standard one of the theme.
What can I do? Can you help me?

Thanks in advance for your reply.
Alex
Hi Lacasito70, indeed when you use a new item, you need first to learn how to use it, after that everything will become easier, this method that you mentioned is applying in al domains.
This seems to be strange, for your details is like the “imported” settings are not saved, can you make a full backup and provide via email access to staging and the live website to make a test for a single post template or a cloud category to see the theme behavior? this will help a lot and will be faster to see if there is a problem with the theme or is some cache or other conflicts.
Please send the email at contact@tagdiv.com and include the link of this thread inside the email, in this way I will know exactly about what is the problem that you are facing!
Thank you for your understanding and sorry for the inconvenience!
