Column Text – "Edit Content" button not working on TD Composer

Hi,

I installed newspaper and I am trying to edit the “Dentist Sample” via the TD Composer.
I see that at the “contact page” there is a shortcode on a “column text” component… I tried to replace the shortcode with another one, but there started the problem…

The “Column Text” component that has the “Edit Content” button is dead.

1. I press the “Edit Content” button
2. A window opens with an editor that lets me type html
3. No matter what I type there, when I close the window, nothing goes back to the “column text”.

I tried this with two clean installs (just the template and the dentist demo), with no other plugins installed.
My environment is PHP 7.2 running on nginx on a shared hosting environment.

Hi,

If you could provide access to the install where the issue happens we could take a look. Send us admin login as well as cPanel of FTP at contact@tagdiv.com so we can investigate. If you tried with a clean install and no extra plugins, then it may be a server issue of some kind.

Include a link to this topic in the email.
Thanks

SOLVED – CLOUDFLARE ISSUE

It seems this was all due to Cloudflare.

More specifically if you go at the “Speed” section and Disable the “Rocket Loader” option, then the problem gets resolved.

Please note that this option is enabled by default when a site goes through Cloudflare, so its important to either take steps to prevent the theme from malfunctioning with default Cloudflare settings or inform your users that they need to be aware of that setting in Cloudflare.

Hi,

We mentioned this in tutorials guides section Cloudflare
-> https://forum.tagdiv.com/cloudflare-cdn/

Thank you for your understanding.

thank you for your feedback… Seems I missed that.

Maybe a suggestion on my side would be that on the “TD Editor” at the lower left corner add an “FAQ link” so people would be informed about this and maybe other things that might affect their work.

Such a fast reference would be awesome (if not already there and haven’t seen it)…

ofcourse such a thing is not necessary, but for some TL;DR people like me – would be good 😀
