No I did not mean a different WordPress, but thew theme adds it’s own code to the comments section and comment count so it seems something interfered with the theme implementation of the comment count. Unfortunately it is hard to say what as there is no error log or anything that can help us identify why the comments did not get recorded.

Do you mean the newspaper add its own code to put comments? In this case, should be some way of this code not working?
It could have been a plugin conflict, yes that prevented the theme code from working properly. It could have been a child theme or a customization or an optimization tool. It is hard to say now. There is no error log on this so I can only guess at this point, sorry.

Hi Bogdan, as I still trying fix my site about count comments in author page.
I did some tests with the Newspaper theme in a localhost instalation and I noticed that count comments at author pages is working only by comments posted by logged person. Is that normal?

The comment count in the author page will counts comments made by that author. If the author is not logged in, no comment will be registered for that author. Please correct me if I misunderstand.

The author box comment counter, counts the number of comments made by that author

Not comments made by other users to the posts of that author, if that is what you mean. So the author has this many posts and this many comments as the author box displays.

Hi Simion, I’m glad now because I was expecting that counter would show comments from anothers users or visitors. Now I finally understood it only counts comments from the author posts itself. Thanks
