We have to go into our website every day to correct “crazy characters” showing up. They look like this Â
Our website is https://infomeddnews.com and we are correcting these issues every day!
Hi,
I see some in the about page – https://www.screencast.com/t/FdWEWgJHvX
But where could they be coming from? If you check in the backend of the page or post do they show up there? – check the text tab when verifying the text

Also does the issue happen only in tagDiv composer text elements? If you re-enter the text or fix it, does the issue re-appear in those places?
Hi Simon, thanks for getting back to me. I have no idea where they are coming from. I have checked the backend and after we add text, characters appear.
Yes, the issue happens with tagDiv composer in the text elements. So we have to go back in and fix it but sometimes, the error will appear, in the same text field in a different place. This is becoming an issue. Your advice please? Thanks.
So the characters will appear in the same place after you manually removed them? Something must be inserting them there for some reason.
Do you use any text editing plugins when writing, or copying text from a different editor? or maybe previously a plugin was used for his and now it has been deactivated?
I browsed the website for quite a while, seems I cannot find the issue currently.

Hello, I recognized the same issues and it drives me mad – I think this is since the last theme update.
This only occurs, if you make changes within the tagdiv composer. If you make the changes in the standard wordpress editor and update the page, everything is good. If you make changes within the tagdiv composer and update the page, the characters are transmitted into those crazy characters.
This must be a utf8 problem. Please fix this issue, please 🙁
Yes I agree. They sent me links to articles that explains why this is happening, but when I called my host provider, they said that the issue is with the theme and that they should be looking into this to fix it. It is very annoying, but also embarrassing creating double work for me and our team.
There were some issues with text elements in version 9, but they were fixed in 9.0.1. If some text elements have this problem, try to remove and re-add them. Or return to a previous page revision in the back-end page edit screen.
So if you made modifications to text elements or added text elements in pages while using version 9, remove and re-add them or return to a previous page revision. In the latest 9.0.1 the problem is fixed so it should not happen again.
We are very sorry for causing such an inconvenience, sometimes no matter how much tests are made there still are issues.
Yes, the problems in newspaper 9 were fixed in version 9.0.1 Please update your theme and replace the text again. Use this guide to update: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
