Custom post template won't show smartlist

I created a custom template for posts and I noticed that smart lists won’t work – is this a bug or a template limitation?

Hi,

A template created by you specifically for the smart lists posts should be used, like mentioned in this topic

The post content should contain only the smart list, that would be how it works currently. Maybe this will change in the future.

So if I default the post template (side-wide) to a custom template I have to go on each smart list post to change it to a custom smart list template?

If so for a large website that is not feasable.

I also reported this issue early on when the team introduced the tagdiv cloud library plugin and the custom post templates. Your solution would be either to revert to the default template you were using or you follow what @simion said. For my case, I decided to just give up the smart lists. But I am hoping the team will find a way to bring compatibility of old posts with smart lists to the custom post templates in future.
