Custom Post Type Templates

When adding custom post types to my template they use the default theme template (wp-content/themes/Newspaper/loop-single.php) file instead of the themes post template.

This includes a very different layout and does not include a header image or sidebar or sharing tools or a lot of the other stuff related to the basic post template. Note that it is not using the template set in Post Settings -> Default post template (site wide) but rather a generic template set in the theme.

I have tried many different settings in the theme panel under Posts Settings ->Custom Post Types and Under CPT & Taxonomy for each post type.

Ideally the ability to create a custom cloud template for each post type or at least inherit the default template.

I know WordPress and how to make a custom child template file single-customposttype.php but then I will end up writing a lot of code just to make it inherit stuff form the main template file, like share buttons, colour coded categories …etc.

Hello!

Unfortunately, the way you described a possible solution might be how you can achieve it.
Please note that customization is not covered by the support team: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-support/
For customization and other services you can contact our custom work team here: https://tagdiv.com/premium-customization-services/

Thank you for your understanding!

I get that customizations will need to be done by me and are not supported. The problem I bring up is that the Newspaper Settings Panel “CPT & Taxonomy” do not have any effect on the page.

No sidebar appears. If I select none for breadcrumbs or move the sidebar to right and left ..etc. then the layout of the page does not change. I never see a sidebar for example.
