Hello Support Team,
is it true I need to use a child theme to use custom post types and custom taxonomies?
https://forum.tagdiv.com/custom-post-type-support/
How to create a custom single template for your post type:
Step 1 – Pick one of your favorite single templates (check the next image)
Step 2 – Copy it in the root of your child theme folder
Step 3 – Rename it to single-your_post_type.php (replace your_post_type with the wordpress id of your post type. In our sample plugin the id is td_book so the file should be called single-td_book.php)
How to create a custom taxonomy list:
Copy the taxonomy.php file from the root of the theme to the root of the child theme and rename it to taxonomy-YourTaxonomy.php
2. Is it true that tagdiv newspaper 8 is not working with the wp-types toolset plugin, which is a plugin to define custom taxonomies?
https://wp-types.com/forums/topic/side-bar-not-working-well-when-enable-it-to-custom-archive/
https://forum.tagdiv.com/search/toolset/
3. Which plugin to bild sites based on custom post types and custom fields do you suggest working with tagdiv newspaper 8 theme?
Thank you for your consideration and feedback, Best, Chris
Hi,
Please notice that we do not have any tested plugin that allows you to define custom taxonomies, sorry! As you want to achieve involve custom work as we cannot provide this type of services at the moment, sorry! All as you can do from our theme is perfectly explained in our documentation which is addressed to advanced users. Notice that is not a simple task to do this and if you are not aware of the steps which are needed to take in this case, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom services at the moment, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi Catalin,
thank you for your clarification to point 2 and 3. I understand what you are saying.
I have read the documentation as far as it was accessible pre-sales. I was not aware that I cannot use any of the common plugins to define custom taxonomies.
Maybe a hint on the public documentation would have been helpful.
Best, Chris
