Hi there,
I am in an urgent need of understanding why my trafic droped by more than 50% after moving some style code.
Here is the story : the initial designers had put all custom styles in the Newsmag folder, obliging me to a lots of work when Tagdiv was releasing a theme update.
I therefore asked a developper to move all custom style code from the Newsmag folder to Newsmag Child, wich required to change some code in the header. The changes went on live at the end of january, and suddenly my trafic droped from 5th february on.
So I am trying to understand what happenned, in oder to get back on the track.
And my questions are :
1- do you have any known issue on SEO ranking after moving custom style code from Newsmag to Newsmag Child ?
2- according to your experience, can you name wich mistake could upset google after the moving of a style code ?
Thanks in advanced, and my appologies if the questions are nonsense :), I am just trying to find a lead to get my trafic back.
Hello Berbi,
Please keep in mind that we do not have any bad reports in this regard with our theme. Please keep in mind that we cannot provide optimization services for our theme because these involves time-consuming and we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry! Also, notice that we have a guide for speed optimization and if you want to increase it you should follow the steps from here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/ Please notice that the speed of your website depends on how well your site is optimized. Notice that is not a simple task and if you do not have any experience in this regard you will do not bring good results for the theme.
If you are not aware of these steps which are needed to take in this regard, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to help you because we cannot provide custom work at the moment, sorry!
Thanks for your understanding!
Hi Catalin,
As explained here https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-make-the-site-faster/, I tried to install the tagDiv speed booster plugin, but I couldn’t find it in the WP plugin search. Can you give me the complete name ? And then is the plugin compatible with PHP 7 ?
Thanks in advanced.
TagDiv speed booster is included in the /plugins/ folder with your purchased theme download from Themeforest.
Also note, that using child themes may not always be advisable as it’s a CSS redirect, and may slow down your site slightly.
Obviously you would have checked your site before/after with both Pagespeed Insights and perhaps GTMetrix to see the actual impact technically.
