May i customise the “login / register” section? I want to build membership website so members could log in and log out with their email and password in stead of currently being based on WordPress log in/register functionality. If it’s possible, could you suggest me any membership plugins which are suitable to the theme.

You could make tests with plugins you find and have the requirements you need, best to try free plugins or demo versions to for testing. I can’t make any recommendations because we haven’t made any tests with such plugins. Sorry for any inconvenience.
The theme uses the default WordPress login/register, just ads some style to it with the modal.
Maybe some theme users could share their recommendations with membership plugins they tested or use succesfully.

You could simply disable the theme login, in the theme panel

That is the only location where the login link is displayed by the theme.
