I’m trying to change to the dark theme and cannot find anything in the theme panel to change content page to black
Following my last post I cannot install the dark demo to my live site as it deleted all my content and I had to install a back up! I tried to install without content when this happened. Everything looks fine except the pages and posts still have white backgrounds with black text.

Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme (Newspaper 7.4). Do you are using the child theme? If you are using it, you will have to switch the theme to the main theme, clear all your caches and install only the plugins that come bundled with the theme and rule out the conflicting plugins. Please make sure that you have right made your backup, according to this documentation here -> https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups

Sorry as perhaps I wasn’t clear. I am using the latest version 7.4 and plugins etc. I cannot install the demo theme as it wipes out my whole website whether I check include or not include content. I have to get my host to install a backup twice!
I have managed to create the black header etc but all I need to do now is to have the pages and posts with black (dark background) How do I do this or can I simply add some custom css? If I do this what do I add?

I have investigated your website and I saw that your Balck Version is not fully installed because are missing some CSS rules. My advice is to make a full backup of your data and try to make a new clean install from scratch and install the Black Version on your side and then load your backup there. Would be more causes because of which will not be installed properly the demo. As a quick workaround, you can try to use the following code ->
.td-black .td-main-content-wrap{
background-color: black;
}
but please notice that further, you will have to do some adjustments using CSS for the better look.

First of all, I suggest you doing a full backup. So, please notice that all the posts/pages/images which you will have added on your backend were loaded to your database will still remain there. Now, do you have the demo Black version with the content loaded or all the content was added by you? Please notice that if you have edited the dummy content with your own content, please notice that when you disable the demo all of this edited content will be lost, otherwise if all the content was added manually by you, all of this still remain at your database.

Hi , im facing the same issue. Does main theme need to be applied is necessary? Cant dark theme be applied while child theme is active? Will we have to keep using the parent theme instead of child theme if dark version is required?
Update , i used main theme , uninstalled the demo and installed it again. still the same issue. the contect is here but background titles etc are white

Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the theme and only the required plugins which come bundled with theme packet. Also, please make sure that you have the latest version of child theme wich come bundled with the theme. Please keep in mind that each demo from our list of demos is fully tested with the theme and we have not encountered any issue in this regard. Please try to make a new clean install from scratch and install only the theme with the required plugins and install the demo in the main theme and check the results. Hi , ive done the clean installation twice , and only theme plugins were installed but of no avail. i downloaded latest theme about 4 days ago.However there is a folder named “patch_4.4_4.5” . do i need to do something with the patch?
