Hello reflector,
Ensure that your theme has correctly installed via FTP way, remove all of the untested plugins, clear all the caches, purge CDN files and check the results.

Our requirements for Newspaper theme can be found here -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ Yes, the PHP 7.0 version is tested with the theme and should work as expected.
