Deleted Sidebar (only from Homepage)

I deleted my sidebar from the homepage. It appears to be present on all other pages (posts, category pages etc)

I’ve traditionally used Elementor for page building, but was trying to use tagdiv to edit the homepage. It gave me an option to play with the columns and I chose ‘1’, leading to the loss of the sidebar. Since then it has turned buggy and non-responsive. I can’t add any elements from tagdiv and it’s giving me the following error message:

“Errors at columns elements: 1(models) : 0(dom). The model does not match the content Current state has involved an issue. You could try an UNDO operation (CTRL+Z / CTRL+SHIFT+Z)”

Any ideas how to fix? (cmd + z does not work)

Little bit of progress – if I deactivate Tagdiv plugin, the sidebar returns. Reactivate and it’s gone again.

I’ve obviously told Tagdiv to make a column over the entire homepage. The problem is, there is no way to change this. There are no options on the WP dashboard to edit/undo/look at Tagdiv. Also, like mentioned, Tagdiv has become unworkable when editing the homepage. When I open the editor, I’m met with the message ’empty column’ at the top of the homepage so I know it’s still there, there’s just no way to edit it.

Hi DanniBoi,
You’ll need to use only one builder per page, otherwise you’ll get errors like the one mentioned in the first message.
On pages you can make your own sidebar using the tagDiv Composer and setting the columns from row in 2, 3.. – https://i.imgur.com/5sbP640.png
Also, there are some page templates -> if you use an page template like Page Builder + Latest Articles + Pagination then at the bottom of the page it will be add a section with the latest posts that will use a sidebar made with widgets (from widget section).
Thank you!

Hi there,

Thanks for the response, I’ve taken note of the importance of not using multiple page builders on the same page.

However, the problem persists.

Essentially, I used Tagdiv to make the whole page 1 column. The side bar still exists (because when I deactivate Tagdiv I can see it on the homepage).

What I need to do is remove the Tagdiv setting where I’ve told it to treat the homepage as 1 column.

Can you please help revert this? Tagdiv is unusable and as a result, the function you’ve shown me in the screenshot is not possible. All I need to do is revert the homepage back to the previous column setting.

Hi,
Can you please provide a link to the website were this problem is? So I can take a look to the sidebar and provide a better answer to you.
Thank you!

You will notice that on the homepage there is no side bar. But on every other page (any article) there is a sidebar on the right.

Hi, so to remove this sidebar – https://i.imgur.com/bkHniK1.png you need to use this option – https://i.imgur.com/Q39PqVo.png the results should be – https://i.imgur.com/c1xo2cD.jpg also, on pages – https://i.imgur.com/ZomI9kE.png
Also, if you want to change the elements from sidebar you can do it from this section – https://i.imgur.com/LcwXJpb.png
Thank you!

Thanks, but I think you misunderstood.

I want the sidebar to come back to the homepage (same as every other page). I accidentally made the homepage 1 column (using Tagdiv) and it covered the sidebar on the homepage. Now, tagdiv is buggy and frozen whenever I use it on the homepage, so I can’t revert back.

Hi,
Sorry, I misunderstood the problem.
If the tagDiv Composer was used to make the row in one column when at you need to do is to edit the homepage, select the row and choose a design in 2 columns – https://i.imgur.com/fVRUQgd.png after that just drag the elements you need in the sidebar column.
If you want you can use this video tutorial (this example is from Newspaper, but the sidebar construction is the same on both Newspaper and Newsmag when the tagdiv Composer is used) – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fa7GenCHcBU
Thank you!

Hi there,

Thanks for your response. I need to back track to the initial posting.

What happened is this:

– I built the homepage using Elementor
– I had an existing sidebar (you can see this on any category page or post)
– The existing sidebar is controlled from WordPress – not controlled from Tagdiv
– I used Tagdiv on the homepage, and when I did, Tagdiv made the homepage 1 column so you cannot see the sidebar on the homepage anymore (it is viewable everywhere else)
– Tagdiv has become buggy and I can’t remove the blank Tagdiv row from the top of the homepage – which is taking over the sidebar
– I want to remove Tagdiv from the homepage so the original sidebar appears again

What do you suggest? It looks to me like I will have to rebuild a new homepage and replace the existing one.

Hi, So on page the only way to set a sidebar is using tagDiv Composer and set the row in columns as in above examples. Another way will be to add the latest articles, doing this you’ll add the same sidebar from the rest of the side (this will be sued only in the latest section).
If you want we can take a look and set it for you, for this you can contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a temporary wp-admin access to the website and also include the link of this topic to can identify you faster.
Thank you!
