I have installed the Newspaper Video News demo with demo content!
Is it possible to delete the demo posts an replace them with my own content? i.e keep the demo activated but start populating it with my own content?
The reason behind is that it seems virtually impossible to reproduce the same look and feel with set categories etc. without using the demo content.

This is in fact recommended. You have to remove the demo content, bnot edit it, as if you do, in the future, if you decide to switch demos, the demo content will be removed, edited or not. For this we added the poissibility of installing just the demo, without the dummy data. I decided last night to test the black demo . I clicked on it and included content. I did not like it as it was too dark. I switched back to default including content but all my posts are gone. Most of my categories are gone except for few.
Also during the installation I got an error message regarding deactivating debug. I hope I did not lose my content. any help?

Every time, when you want to change your demo or your website source, you will have to do a full backup. Please notice that all your data will be loaded in your database. Before this, do you are using a demo version with content, right? So, if you have edited some of these posts or pages when you have disabled the demo, all of these are gone…and all of posts has been created by you, will remain on your database…this is the explanation in this regard. The single way is to re-create what you have lost.
