I’m having the same issues that it looks like many others are having. I have two WP sites that I’m trying to get up and running for a client and I am using the Newspaper Theme for both. So I purchased two themes and the problem is that when I try to install the Demo that I want to install for each (Default for One and Sports News for the other), I cannot. However, I can install the Car Enthusiast Demo, so the problem cannot be on my end. I mean if one works for me shouldn’t they all work? Hosting is on GoDaddy. Both are brand new installs of WordPress. I substituted “CLIENT URL” for the client’s URL below and here’s the error that I get:

Is there a work around or fix to install the Demos that I want to use?????? The only reason I purchased the themes were to use those Demos and I have other clients looking for similar sites.

Unfortunately, this error could come from a big number of problems. I believe it happens due to a server configuration which is not responding, it could be due to a delay or it could also be a temporary issue so you can try this a few times and if you still get this error please contact your host provider and let him know about this, ask them to unblock our demo in order to retrieve the theme data. It could also happen due to your wp install or other plugins might also cause this. Also, make sure that your permission for the upload folder is set correct. You can check this by trying to upload an image in the media library. If the process succeeds then the permission is okay. If not you can use the c-panel to change permissions (set them to 777) or if you do not have access to the Cpanel, please contact your hosting provider.

I found a solution chas_donaldson.
I ended up calling godaddy and the solution was simple once I talked to them and realized I forgot that the PHP limited the file sizes I could upload. So I changed three PHP settings and it works perfect now!
Here is what I changed in the cpanel under PHP (godaddy literally walked me right through this).
1. max execution time to 300
2. memory limit to 256M
3. upload max file size to 32M
I waited about an hour per the godaddy person statement that it takes a bit of time for those changes to take effect. And presto, I can upload any demo.
