want to do blocking for my homepage. but when I open a new page to do the blocking, I dont see visual composer option to select various blocks. Plz help

Please make sure visual composer is installed and active on your site. What version of the theme do you use? What version of visual composer? Do you use the mobile theme?
The most common case is the mobile theme plugin which provides a second editor in the back-end so you have to scroll down a bit to see the visual composer editor.
if this is not the case, please disable all plugins except visual composer. clear cache and reset cdn files if you use it.

Hi sorry for late response. Regarding your queries-
1. Visual composer is installed and active.
2. Newspaper v 7.3 is used
3. Dnt know version of visual composer. It was inbuilt with the theme when I purchased.
4. I am only using newspaper 7.3 theme. I believe this is mobile friendly. Not installed any other plugin related to mobile theme.
5. Tried with disabling all the plugins except visual composer, still problem remains same.
Am I missing something? ?

Try to install the latest version of the theme which is Newspaper 7.4. All required plugins come bundled with the theme, like as Visual Composer 4.12.1 and Social Counter 4.1. Update the theme to the latest version of it, clear all your caches and check the results. tried upgrading to newspaper 7.4 after backing up my site. but am getting this error. i have taken this ss but can not attach here. The eroor says :
Import script started:
> Newspaper 4 settings not found in database! td_008 – not found
> Quiting!
Can you fix this for me?

Please keep in mind that the script is useful only for the users which want to update the theme from version 4 to latest version and that’s why you will get this error.
