tagDiv support team please fix this.. We all want to update to the new theme.

Did you all click on the “update script” link in theme panel welcome page? After clicking on the link my page including all blocks was back. Could be possible taht you also need to go to your pages an switch the template (mine was set back to pagebuilder + on all pages instead of homepage blank)

Its a major update.

Try this.

Earse old theme, upload new theme, Update every plugin included on full package.

On new theme clic on All settings to default. Select a stack.

😀 Thats all

“update script” on theme panel’s welcome page resolved half of my issues. I think 6.0 is not mature enough.

Post count: 249

I had no issue at all. I guess I’m the lucky one 😉

Post count: 31

simple pages (blog like magazines) might not have a problem. In my case, I had many variables.

Remember when updating (UPGRADING) … to DELETE old theme and TD plugins, and upload NEW theme and plugins; including NEW child theme if you use one!

Try using my sticky upgrade guide or you may be sorry.

It’s a new version of theme; you may need to redo your home page for some modules, and reset sidebars.

It’s an UPGRADE not an update.

Hi,

Before update please backup the site (database and files) – https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups

You have to remove theme via FTP and install the new one(the theme was practically rewritten ) and also the plugins that come with the theme files, you can find them it in the theme package inside the Plugins folder – http://screencast.com/t/lkrma6blYE
After the update run the script included in the Welcome panel – http://screencast.com/t/eZxxuqvsTir
And regenerate the thumbs – https://forum.tagdiv.com/using-the-theme-with-existing-content/

Also check the documentation here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/

Or if you have updated automatically please make sure that youe delete these files(old page templates):

page-homepage-bg.php
page-homepage-bg-loop.php
page-homepage-blank.php
page-homepage-loop.php
page-homepage-timeline.php

Thanks and sorry for inconvenience!

probably it’s right…it is not mature. also with a clear installation from zero is not working.

You should have put a “warning.txt” in the root folder of the theme zip file package.

I have over 100 customised sidebars each with different plugins – if I upgrade to v.6 will I have to rebuild all of this?

Post count: 28

Where are all the shortcodes from V.4? I’am using over 500 dropcaps, several quotes etc..

Post count: 103

Same situation for me ( sidebars).Wait or make a test on a preprod version because when i upgraded yesterday, nothing was working anymore…

Post count: 39

Having problems with the dropcaps too. They weren’t ported over automatically, however there is a new option under: Formats> Dropcaps. Unfortunately this renders a different circle that is more an oval with a different coloured background than the one I used to have.

I found that you have to replace all shortcodes since in v6 they are gone and are placed with simple HTML blockquotes. I had to run search/replace on the database to get all shortcodes replaced with proper HTML tags.

Also, I found during upgrade you will most likely need to “import” dummy content but without content. So it imports settings, otherwise it looks like crap.

Typography is also gone, it’s not imported automatically even if you use their v4 to v6 upgrade. All fonts reset to default.

If you’re using child theme from v4, you must replace top portion of the functions.php, it changed and will cause issues. Just compare new v6 child functions.php and replace your old default part at the top with the new code.

Same goes for header.php and footer.php, they’ve made changes so you need to make sure if you have customer header.php and footer.php in your child theme that you compare these files to v6 files and update necessary code to match v6. They are different from v4, you’ll get blank screen.

I didn’t see a huge (major) change with 6.0
actually it messed things up.

Post count: 9544

@Cagatay

it’s a huge change — see the changelog.

Lot has changed under the hood; new modules, new menus, new sidebar stuff, etc., etc.

We get it — you’re unhappy. You probably don’t need to keep saying that on every other post thread. Just roll back to the prior version if you’re so upset! You’re not obligated to use the all-new version. Just sayin.
