Thanks for your response Anamaria! We’ve uploaded them at full size. I was under the impression that WP then resizes it into large, medium, thumbnail, etc. The element we’re using in our sidebar is the Flex Block 1, with the Article Image – Image Size set to Small.
Hi,
For flex block, you can change the image height and width https://i.imgur.com/PHUt5qC.png as you want.
Thank you!
Hi Anamaria,
I’m not asking about the visual size of the image. I’m asking about the size of the image file itself, in order to save on bandwidth and improve the performance of the site as it’s loading. Does that make sense? Those two inputs you pointed out in your image are related to the visual presentation of the image.
Thanks for your time,
L.D
Hello,
Each thumb that you have enabled, will create a copy of that images. II recommended using the Flex blocks, instead of blocks 1-25; those are from the tagDiv standard pack and can’t be customized as a Flex Block; this plugin loads all the styles even if it is not used;
So, our theme make thumbs which are enabled in Theme Panel -> Block Settings => https://www.screencast.com/t/ZvDvpiBFKY3 -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
Also, WordPress creates thumbs => https://www.screencast.com/t/AMVBOZWto
Our suggestion is to take a look at what blocks you use and make sure that the thumbs are active only for that=> https://forum.tagdiv.com/theme-thumbs/
Thank you!
Thanks Anamaria, your response was very informative. I’m starting to understand how it’s supposed to work, but it’s still not working. Here you can see that I have the 300×0 thumb enabled, which is supposed to work for Flex Block 1:

Here you can see that I am using Flex Block 1 for the sidebar and have the image size set to Small – 300×0:

And here you can see that on our actual site, an image in the sidebar has a width of 960px instead of 300:

Do you know where Newspaper stores the thumb images? Perhaps I can regenerate them somehow in case they are just missing?
Thank you for your time,
L.D
I’m going to try the steps listed here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/existing-content/
Then I’ll report back.
