hey i am newbie and pretty much confuse.. My website opens very slow..I just wanted to know does newspaper theme have the facility to compress the image size or we have to do it manually..
And if it is manual process.. which plugin is best?

No, the theme by itself will not compress images but they can be compressed by following this guide:
