After updating, the Instagram footer stopped working and displays this error instead. I was going to remove and grant access again but the “Remove” button in the Theme Panel is non-functional both in Firefox and Chrome.
Personal account.
Hello @criacaoanicer !
This issue has been discussed already here, please check: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/cant-connect-instagram-2/
Thank you!
I don’t think it’s the same issue. As I said, I’m unable to remove the access token.
If personal accounts aren’t supported anymore, you should just remove this functionality in the Theme Panel altogether.
This is where the account is connected: https://i.imgur.com/jRXtEKK.png
This is where the error shows up: https://i.imgur.com/7ko8LXs.png
It also came to my attention that my company’s account is the creator type, not business. https://help.instagram.com/2358103564437429
It’s not in our best interest to change to business at the moment.
So I’m unable to link this account using the “Instagram Business” option.

Hello @Mangled!
The response for this issue, was this one:
“I’m afraid that concerning Instagram there will be some problems unfortunately. After some restrictions from Instagram, our theme application can’t access the account anymore and fetch the account information and content. This means that connecting a personal Instagram account in the theme panel will not work anymore. We haven’t removed the personal account option for now, because our developer team will try to resolve this, and perhaps it will be possible to provide the same functionality again for personal accounts. But we cannot guarantee anything, as it is beyond our control.
We recommend switching to a business account if possible – https://help.instagram.com/502981923235522 and connecting that one – https://prnt.sc/UlS6NYYW8Bme It will also require connecting the Instagram to a Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/business/help/connect-instagram-to-page If it is done this way, it should work.
But I’m not sure if anything other than a business account type will work. A creator account type may not. I am very sorry for this inconvenience. You could maybe also try a few free plugins, and connect your current account – https://kinsta.com/blog/wordpress-instagram-plugin/ ”
Thank you!
Thanks for looking into it because I am facing the same issue. Pressing “remove” doesn’t do anything.
