Hi there!
Great theme!
I’ve made all the custimazions and getting to know how it works.
I only have a major problem: the site crashes very often, mostly in the backend, whatever I’m doing.
It slowly tries to load pages but it ends showing a “Service Unavailable. The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.” page.
I already went through this: https://www.hostinger.com/tutorials/how-to-fix-admin-ajax-file and other (very helpful!) guides Calin suggested on the forum.
On the Newspaper’s system status tab, all the lights are green.
I installed Smush and Hummingbird, dramatically improving the site’s performance but the “service unavailable” problems continue to show very often.
I already went through this with the hosting provider. They’re not very firendly and they usually respond “if there’s a problem, it’s your fault. And if it’s our fault, buy an upgrade plan”
The problem I see on the cPanel is on the CPU usage and the Physical Memory Usage, always at peak level. When they reach 100% (and it happens as soon as I click on a tab in the backend) the server gets stuck.
Can you help me with this? There’s surely some variable in Newspaper that overload the system, but I also feel that the server’s performance is too poor. What can I do?
Hi,
Make sure that the server you are using is a good one and is over 2gb cpu and ram.
Also you can try the recommendations for high cpu when you edit with tagDiv Composer -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/a-few-tips-for-newspaper-x-speed-high-cpu-usage-issues/
Let me know the results!
Hope this will help you!
Hi Calin, thanks for the quick reply.
Unfortunately the server is only 512 Mb. But I’m almost sure there is some problem going on here, as the hosting is the main provider in Italy and we’re not having a huge traffic at all.
If the theme requires 2gb cpu and ram only to publish an article, you should write “stone heaviest theme ever” instead of “feather light theme” on top of the Themeforest page…
I hope you can give me some real help instead of sending me back to server.
Thank you!
Hi sideways, if you check our requirements https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ then you’ll se that these requirements are not for post an article and is for the theme to work properly for visitors, please make sure that all requirements are like there.
Please make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict, please deactivate ALL plugins except tagDiv ones, also if you are using child theme or cache plugin, deactivate them, clear all cache and try again.
Also if there is still a problem we can take a look (send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login, as well as cPanel), but, if you have a cheap host I do not promise that we can do something to improve the situation.
Thank you for your understating!
Thanks Calin.
The problem is that the host is not cheap!!
By the way, I upgraded the hosting plan and see if it gets a visible change.
As for the requirements, they are all satisfied but the site doesn’t work.
I’ve also been through the deactivation of all plugins, but it didn’t work.
I’ll ask you to take a look only if things don’t get better after the upgrade.
Hi,
Sorry, when I said cheap, I mean about the CPU and ram and space (resources) that provide for you as user, not about how much it costs, maybe the “cheap” word was not the right one for that phrase, sorry!
Also we can take a look, just send us the email with the information from above reply.
Thank you for your understanding!
update: the hosting doubled the resources and now we run on 1Gb ram and 1Gb cpu.
Everything works fine now, but the load is always on the edge. I asked other basic hostings about their performances and they all actually offer at least 2Gb. It was definitely due to poor performance and I will change provider asap.
Thanks by the way for the help
Hi Andrew H,
I think that this is just like the problem that sideways had, make sure that you have the theme requirements as in our guide -> https://forum.tagdiv.com/requirements-for-newspaper/ also you need to have a host that offers some good resources.
Thank you!
Grazie
